Beautiful holster, thick quality leather, great retention, fit and finish is very good. My Girsan MC1911 with a pic rail is right at home in this holster. I laser engraved the holster and it did very well, it’s definitely real leather.

This is a well made holster for the 1911 series semi-automatic .45 Auto. The leather is thick and high quality, and the stitching is great too. It fits my Tisas 1911 A1 perfectly. Not too tight, not too loose. Just right. You don't need to spend a ton of money on a quality leather holster for the 1911. This is a good one for less than $30! Buy it with confidence and enjoy.

I ordered this in brown. The leather finish is beautiful and it fits both my RIA 45ACP 1911 and my Colt 22LR 1911 rail gun. I wish the retainer strap was on the other side so it could be a thumb break and not interfere with drawing the gun because you have to pull it open it with a finger, that should be around the grip and then reach to get it out of the way to reholster. I may get used to that, but now it is awkward and slows my reholstering, and draw. The clip requires some force to slide it over a belt so I am not concerned that it will slip off. But I wish the clip were smaller for a 1.5" belt. It may be tight on a wider belt, which I don't wear or have. That makes the clip a bit loose/sloppy, and allows a variable cant. When I am standing, the gun hangs down vertically, which is good. The cant changes depending on how I am sitting so the gun doesn't get in the way or cause the gun to poke me. I may decide I like that flexibility. My initial impression is that I would prefer it be a bit tighter on the belt I usually wear.

I have gone through a lot of holsters. Kydex, leather, nylon, retention, loose fit, form fit, custom-made, general-purpose... I feel qualified to speak on behalf of this holster's quality. And I have to say, it is almost disappointing how nice this thing is... Disappointing because I am now aware of so many holster scams out there. I've spent a lot more on holsters that were not this nice and did not fit as well, or fit "too well" to the point that it scratched the finish or worse. Also, this exact same holster is on ebay for almost 80 dollars. So make sure you do your research... Is this mass produced in China? yes. Does that mean the quality and attention to detail suffers? Quite the contrary ;) Now, I did have a rather specific use: I have a nice 1911 and I wanted something more like a leather sheath to keep the finish nice and shiny. It's not meant for every day carry, though I could absolutely see someone using it for that with the right belt EDC set up. I also wanted something specifically with a clip and not a belt loop, as this works better for my specific use. If you're looking for a form-fitting, retention body-hugger of some sort, this is not that. But it is an exceptionally nice protective cover for your precious 1911. The advertisement does not lie: The leather is thick and very nicely finished, with a plush interior. A few loose threads on the stitching but nothing compromising at all, a quick touch with a lighter made it beautiful again. I ordered the model with the thumb-break and guess what? It is not only fully adjustable and removable, but it is smartly designed so that all metal clasps and buckles stay away from your firearm. You never have metal on metal contact while holstering or unholstering. So it's a cheap holster you don't need to worry about damaging your firearm in any way. I felt compelled to write this long and detailed review in the hopes that someone else takes the plunge and has the veil pulled back for them too. Shop smart, know what you want and what you're looking for, and you can find an amazing holster for 35 bucks. 38 after tax...
