Southern Foam Memory Foam Mattress Topper with Cover, 3 Inch, UK Small Double

There appear to have been mixed reviews for this, so I thought I'd tell of my experience.I have had the mattress topper for two nights now and been very pleased with it. I was using it on a sofa bed in which I could feel the bars and wire springs through the thin mattress. But this topper has made a big difference and I've been enjoying a really comfortable nights sleep. Between sleeps I simply whip it off the bed and prop it up between the back of the sofa and wall. It's not too heavy, I think it said 7kgs for the small double size.The delivery was really quick. I actually think it arrived the next day, by UPS. Even the delivery man was consciencious because he acknowledged that the outer box had been ripped so he waited around for me to check all was ok with the product inside. It was fine.The mattress topper comes in an outer cardboard box and then is rolled in a tough plastic bag, so is well protected in transit. Once you've removed it from the plastic bag it takes an hour or so to expand.But the product comes with a useful mini guide on what to do when you receive it (e.g. allowing it to expand) and also acknowledges and gives guidance on the temporary smell. The manufacturers have clearly put consideration into this.Some people have complained that it makes them too hot. I think I can understand what they mean, but I have felt a bit warmer which, for me, is a positive.Some have complained about the smell. Again I can understand why they don't like it, but I kinda do. If you like the smell of petrol or tarmac then this shouldn't be a problem for you. And the smell has already significantly dissipated after a couple of nights already, so I'm sure in a few more days it'll be gone.So, considering the above, I would recommend this product.

I bought this to replace the thin foam mattress that came with my sofa bed. It has made all the difference. Thank you very much. The delivery was first class also. Well worth the money.

I would have left the seller some feedback before posting this, but that option isn't available for this seller.The box arrived before the estimated delivery date which was great, but when it was delivered I noticed the box had impact damage. Nothing major, but two of the corners had been damaged and the mattress could be seen via a tear to the cardboard at the top of the box.The foam mattress was rolled and protected in a clear plastic film wrapper. However when I removed the mattress from the plastic film it felt damp, very damp in places. This was strange as there was no sign of water either on the box or on the inside of the plastic film, but the mattress was definitely damp and the additional purchased cover was very damp. I've allowed the foam to dry out naturally, but the covered had to go on the radiator.Too early to tell whether this will improve my sleep, but seems to be good value for the money, just a shame that it was damp on delivery.

I bought this foam mattress for my sofa bed. Delivery was fast and it is pretty good quality. We had a guest over and I made the sofa bed using this mattress as a topper. Our guest said that the sofa bed was very comfortable and he slept very well.

I bought 120 x190cm size (with cover) To give you an actual idea of the size it fits exactly inside a single duvet cover. It’s been a game changer for my nights sleep. No more waking up in the night with an aching back.I look forward to a good night sleep, just like being at home so I would definitely recommend this mattress topper.

Very smelly when new. Sweat alot in the night but comfortable to lie on

After reading other reviews, I thought I would share my experience of this 3” mattress topper with cover. I had bought it because I was struggling to sleep on a wooden slatted bed frame with an uncomfortable cheap mattress, and couldn’t stretch to a buying new bed.It’s a weighty item on delivery. On unpacking it is misshapen and scrunched up rather. The instructions recommended just putting it on the mattress and let it expand on there, which it did.It does smell, and it’s a rather agricultural smell, but that disappears in a couple of weeks.As for the topper moving about, I have a fitted mattress protector and fitted sheet and it doesn’t move at all.What it has done is given me the gift of a great nights sleep, every night. I turn the topper over when I change the bed as I read somewhere that it was a good thing to do! I would recommend this product and think it is good value.

This mattress could be great. But despite following instructions and leaving it to open out fully for 3 days actually a deep groove remains in the centre, right where your bottom lands! So not comfy
