160GB 2.5 External SATA Hard Drive
Bought 2 of these to send extensive photos and video files to others. A bit 'muddly' at first sight as it seemed as though part of it had to be constructed using the screwdriver and instructions which were enclosed. However, the unit was fully constructed and useable immediately. Good results, the only 'minus' being that there is a dual USB cable for connection and for powering the unit from the pc. Pocket-sized and quite well finished.

Top Value External Hard Drive
I have had this in use for over 6 months now and it's working a treat as a surrogate hard drive for my iPod to store all my mp3s for use with iTunes. I'm running a 3 year old lap top running on Windows XP (couldn't stand Vista) and it's installed itself without the need for any extra drivers - XP found the device straight away without any drama. It connects via a USB cable, which is also what powers it. This means there is no additional power supply to lug around which makes the device much more portable. The USB cable comes with a small USB connector one end to connect to the hard drive and two standard connectors the other end to connect to your computer (although with most computers and laptops you will only need to connect one of these as the 2nd is for use with older, lower powered USB connections). The housing is a pretty solid metal construction and I admit it has taken a couple of drops already and survived. Not sure how rugged it would be if it got too much abuse but I don't really want to be testing that out! It comes supplied with a soft case which I find works well in isolating any small sounds it makes while it's working.Speed wise it works more than quick enough for iTunes and I have not yet experienced any jumps or lags in songs. I have also used it to transfer large digital camera files across from different computers and can't really grumble about the transfer speed there either.Over all I would consider this a very good buy and at a very reasonable price. In fact I will be purchasing another device to use to back up this one just in case it fails in the future.

SATA SumVision External Hard Drive
This is a great external hard drive if you're looking to use it with a Microsoft, however, contrary to what it says on the box, it is not compatible with Mac. This is not because of the hard drive itself, but because the disc that comes with it to install the driver isn't the normal disc size, so you cannot put it into the disc slot of a Mac. This is incredibly frustrating, so if you're looking for a hard drive for a Mac, don't get this one! However, using it on my partner's Microsoft, it is absolutely fine, does exactly what it says on the box.

Box
The actual product is perfect! The only thing is it came in a 'hard drive enclosure' box saying 'simply add your own 2.5" hard disk'. And the case itself was a different colour. As I was frantically checking on Amazon what it was I actually ordered, all I could imagine was a string of e-mails between me and the supplier that would take forever to sort out a solution. However, Amazon confirmed that I had indeed ordered what I originally wanted. It wasn't untill I opend the box and unscrewed the casing, that the actual hard drive I payed for was in there and ready to go.So....by all means order the product, it's fantastic value, but don't panic if it comes in completely different packaging that's shown in the product phots.

Lasted less than a year
I’ve been using this since March 2018 and it’s been good. Fast storage and easy to use. But sadly it’s stopped working and I’ve no way of accessing all my documents. You get what you pay for!

DO NOT BUY: FAULTY, OLD PRODUCT WITH CONNECTION ISSUES
This hard drive isn't firmly secured within its casing: if you knock it at all, it loses connection. Because of this faulty connection, I lost all of my data. When I took it to an IT repair shop to see if they could get back any of my files, they said that the hard drive itself is a very old model which has been put in a new shell. The repair guy advised to spend a little bit more on a hard drive to ensure you get a good quality product.

Works well with my Mac OS Lion. And super quick delivery!
I needed an external HD to back up my university work and I looked around and found this one. I thought it'd work fine and hoped that it would with my Mac, which it does. I only just got it and transferred some files over so I am writing this review quite early. But so far, so good. The only thing is, it's NOT black like in the picture. It's grey/silver and looks a bit different as well. I can't see any air vents on it. But it's really good, looks robust and nice and small. And also, it had either SUPER QUICK DELIVERY or ULTRA SLOW EMAIL NOTIFICATION. Because I received an email this morning that it has been shipped, and after a few hours I had received it at home. So that was a surprise. A pleasant one, mind.So yeah, if you're looking for a decent hard drive at a reasonable price, this is the one!

Sata hard drive
This product was easy to install and functions correctly. Having a hard drive that does not require a seperate power supply and is small and neat, is definate advantage when space is a premium!
