Brilliant. This book was bought as a present for my wife. She read it from cover to cover and is still referring to it for information.

Should make an excellent read and give some ideas of the value of coins

Personally I am not a coin collector but bought this as a present for someone who is. The great thing about this book is that I could understand it and the person who I bought it for who's knowledge of coinage is very indepth finds it essential. The book is comprehensively arranged with clear photos of major coins and is very up to date-an important factor in this field.

Not as described,too few up to date coins

A comprehensive guide to prices of coins from Celtic to the present day in the usual four categories - Fine, Very Fine, Extremely fine and Brilliant Uncirculated. Very pleasing, high quality, full-size colour photos including some rarities - 1933 penny, unique 1952 penny, 1937 Edward V111 penny and threepence. Cataloque begins with fifty pages of interesting info on market trends, collecting, storage and grading guides, museum collections, counterfeit coins and a comprehensive bibliography. There is also a selection of interesting and useful advertisments. The only criticisms one might make are a lack of information on interesting coins such as the above and on minting quantities, and the categories are not as easy to find as they might be. But this is nit-picking at an otherwise good buy.

The book is much smaller than you expect.Disappointed that there are not pictures of the coins I bought for my son so that he could quickly check value of his 50pences for fun rather than going online. The fact that it is produced every year is misleading as you do not expect it to be so much about historic coins.
