Worth every penny
I was in Perimenopause for 18 months before having a total hysterectomy last month and this plunged me into instant menopause. Where I was increasingly warm, I became an inferno of internal heating and sweat!!! I tried cooling blankets (good) and ice pillow inserts (good whilst cold) but nothing was helping me to cool down... till this AMAZING watch!!! It's a considered purchase these days at £249, but within 3 hours, I already knew it was worth every penny. It feels like an ice cube on your wrist on a hot summer's day. And even though this is only happening on one wrist within minutes I was cooling down all over. Last night was the first night this year that I didn't sweat!!! At all!!! Several friends have now tried mine on, and I they were also impressed with how cooling it is. The quick blast of cool is great if you get suddenly hot, and the overnight 9 hour cool results in a sweat free sleep. The warming button is very warm to me, but that's probably because I'm hot already. I'm looking forward to trying it on cool winter walk though. In conclusion, if, like me, you've been looking for a way to combat the menopause, add this to your arsenal and keep cool 😎

This really does work - but you must read the instructions!
As a man undergoing hormone therapy, I experienced exceptional night-sweats, disturbing my sleep and generally ruining my life. Desperate to get a good nights rest I searched the internet and came across this device. Using it has been a revelation and I now tell everyone I meet - especially health care professionals of the benefit I got by using the Embr Wave 2. This is a life-saver - no more disturbed nights and effective sense of cooling when I get a hot flash during the day too. I cannot recommend this awesome device enough. But do download the app and experiment with the settings. My presets are: night setting are "All Night Cool" - duration 8 hours, temperature set to 4.5 activated by the plain button.Day settings are "Hot Flash Relief " - duration 5 minutes, temperature set to 4.5 activated by the dotted button. These are the settings that work for me, but dotry your own and be patient - you body needs toadapt to using this device. If mine ever stopped working or became lost or damaged, I would certainly purchase another. Best thing ever for controlling hot flashes. Well done to the team that invented it.

I bought this to help manage my menopause hot flashes at night, but I ended up wearing it all day and night. The battery life has been impressive— I click the preset buttons when I need it and haven’t used the all-night setting. It’s definitely improved my sleep quality. Whenever I feel a hot flash coming on, I press the cool button, which not only helps me feel less panicky but also lets me fall back asleep faster during the night. I also love the warming setting! I’ve used it while outside in cold weather, and it provides a cozy, comfortable warmth—temperature level 3 is plenty warm for me. The highest cool setting could be even colder for my liking, but being in menopause, I’m not sure anything would feel cold enough! 😄 The app is easy to use and quite helpful, especially when it comes to adjusting the button presets. I didn’t grant full permissions, so I don’t have access to all of the "Learn" section, but so far, I haven’t felt the need for it. I can track my usage, which is interesting to see, especially during the night. As for the band, I struggled with the metal band that came with it. It constantly snagged on my clothes and wasn’t very comfortable. I ordered the comfort band from Embr Labs, but unfortunately, that wasn’t a great fit either—it would feel too tight and the velcro closure wasn’t easy to adjust. After some searching, I found a soft, stretchy 18mm braided watch band on Amazon (2 for $15) that works much better! The listing didn’t say it was compatible with the Embr Wave, but it works perfectly (it said it was compatible with the Garmin Venu -though I’m not sure what that is). Now, I can easily switch which arm I wear it on, even in the middle of the night. I also bought the comfort bumper case from Embr Labs, which I’m happy with. When the unit is on the cooling setting, the outside can get warm (which makes sense), but it can feel counterproductive when you’re trying to cool down. The bumper has helped solve this issue. This was a big investment for me, so I did my research, read a lot of reviews, and waited for a Black Friday sale before making the purchase. I can honestly say I’d be lost without it now—I’ve grown quite attached to this little but powerful device. This could be a game-changer for so many people with all kinds of different needs, though I do wish it were more affordable because I’d love to buy one for all my family and friends!

I could be a spokesperson for this! I use to have hot flashes 2 or 3 every hour. Nighttime. Daytime. It doesn't matter. I take 2 meds to help reduce the numbers. Before Embr, with my pills, I'd get maybe 10/day, and about 4 at night. So 15-20/day with meds. When you start using it, it doesn't provide relief instantly. Give it about a week or two to really see the difference it makes. I doubted but had too much money in my HSA in Dec, so I got it. It works wonders! I haven't had to clean off my forehead from all the sweating in weeks orrr if I haven't charged it up. When you feel it starting in your head, hit that button a few times and the hot flash dissipates into nothing. It just goes away. I've always tried to play the game with myself, how long can I keep my blanket on at night before I HAVE TO kick them off. I never got through a full hot flash before they come off. Now, don't even have to move. I push that button, and I'm good. I'm just an ordinary female that's TRULY struggled with hot flashes for more than 10 years (did ya know, for some of us, they may never rarely go away!). I want women to know, this thing is a bit odd. Trust me. I don't do fads and I don't jump on bandwagons. This does work. I've bumped it a few times, couple scratches. I'm not a fan of the band. It opens up sometimes and slides down my wrist. Battery life is somewhat decent. I am very pleased with this purchase!

Update 9/2024: I still love this, but it had to be replaced once because it wouldn’t connect to the app, and now neither of them stay connected to the app. I still wear it because it’s great during hot flashes and also has the warmer function to take the chill off. It only works for the shorter sessions that are a couple minutes long since there’s no app capability. I’ve tried dozens of times to get either one to connect and they just don’t after a while. The original one got replaced because it wouldn’t stay connected and now the replacement also doesn’t connect. This is a functionality issue they need to work on. I’d still buy it because it’s an absolute lifesaver during a hot flash using the manual setting. But it’s disappointing that I can’t use all the functionality it’s supposed to have. Also, I’d buy it directly from the company because Amazon is considered a third party seller and they don’t want to honor the warranty if purchased through Amazon. Original review: This is a better purchase than I expected. It remains to be seen how long it lasts, I’ve only had it for just over a month. I bought this for support during hot/nauseous flashes. I will say that it doesn’t “make you cooler” or warmer, but it does distract you and make you more comfortable. I don’t really understand the “why”, but I’ve been using it on the all night cooling setting every night and it helps me sleep a little more soundly. I’ve used the warm wave in cool rooms and it’s ok. It kind of takes away the shivering feeling, which is helpful. I’ve used the cooling in different situations and I wish it would continue to flash as cool as it does when you first turn it on. It seems to only be super chilled for the first wave, and I want it to be that chilly for every wave. I don’t think it’s supposed to be that cold every time, but I wish it would. It’s large and could be a little more discreet, but I don’t care since it works. Overall, it’s a solid purchase as it provides some relief. I’ll continue to use and recommend it as long as it lasts.

The concept is great if it worked. I don’t know where to begin. It’s not too big if you’re wondering I wore it with my Iwatch same wrist. It’s just not super comfortable because you need it to fit snugly to be in contact with your skin and if you are menopausal you wear it all day. I really thought this would sense when your pulse starts to race signaling the start of a hot flash and the cooling process would kick in but no such luck. Other reviewers said it gets hot that is true it heats up to begin the cooling process. Now the cooling is just not cold enough nor long enough to stop your hot flash. Using it with the app is great because I could never remember which button does what. However, if you wake up middle of the night sweating expecting facial recognition to work and it doesn’t, its too dark to see to type your password because you are near sighted then the app not as helpful. I love the idea of the 8 hour cycle I use that at night thinking it will prevent the flashes from starting if I were constantly cooling but that was the biggest dissatisfaction. First the bright blue light stays on for the full 8 hours I found it annoyingly bright. Next it will kill the battery around 4 am. Then the unit will overheat duh the light and it’s motor going for 8 hours was not tested properly this thing is more hot than cold. I did not test the hot feature I’m a walking oven. When you’re asleep it’s hard to keep the unit from being in contact with your body and that also contributes to it overheating. The bottom line - this will NOT prevent a hot flash from happening and the cooling is not cool enough or long enough to stop it before you are covered in sweat. A total fail I’m so sad
