Polti Vaporella Essential, ironing board, 122 x 43.5cm ironing surface, adjustable height, grey, white

My old Ironing board collapsed and I went out and go one from a store. This replacement was rather narrow and wobbled like crazy. It was dangerous so I took it back and went for this Polti board, I considered the bigger version but that would not have gone in my cupboard so I bought this one.It is a nice wide board and is very easy to put up and once up it is steady as a rock. I use a steam generator iron that sits well on the iron tray but I think that if in the future I get a press iron, this will fit on the boar surface too. Very pleased although it is expensive!

In an age where many products of getting smaller, lighter, thinner.. often to save manufacturing costs rather than deliver better products for customers, this simple ironing board is a breath of fresh air. I was completely amazed at how well built it is. It is very sturdy. Made of thick steel. It has a very positive feel and I'm confident will probably out live me. I think it is slightly wider than our previous ironing board which is a benefit. Especially ironing larger items.It is heavier than most ironing boards I've used. There's nothing flimsy about it. So one needs to take care opening and closing it away. I recommend putting your foot against the feet of the stand as you open it. Pretty simple to do, but if you don't it could be tricky.

An ironing board isn't an exciting item however this one rocks! Big ironing space, sturdy construction and a decent size steam iron shelf. It's only got a basic cover so we bought a brabantia one (Size E) which works fine.

Great product

Not particularly impressed to be honest. Was expecting something special for £69.99! It's 3cm smaller each way than the one I already had... the mesh surface is exactly the same,similar weight ( some of the reviews on here are ridiculous in how they describe this so called monster sized board-granted it's bigger than average but smaller than mine!) the generator holder is more secure but quite honestly it's nothing more than a normal ironing board.. my old one only cost £39.99 in home bargains so yes, disappointed. Wish I'd measured my old one before buying this one I wouldn't have bothered.

Nigh on perfect except left handed folk may find the cable gets in between the tray and ironing board

I was after a new ironing board, as my old one was small and getting on a bit. When Amazon asked me to review this, I jumped at the opportunity and here is my opinion.First of all, this ironing board is HUGE! I don't think I've ever owned something like this in the past. With 43.5cm width and 122cm height, one can iron a pair of trousers very quickly, as, if you're like me, this board facilitates having the entire trouser leg on it and ironing it all in one go! Also, shirts can be done quite quickly thanks to the bigger area of the board end that allows to iron shirt backs and collars easily and quickly.Having said that, size comes with weight! This is one very heavy ironing board! The very first time I tried setting it up, I ended up dropping it (don't worry it was on a carpeted surface) due to its weight and size! It does come with two levers (one on each side) to allow for easy setting up and the ratchet underneath allows for at least 5 different height positions, all of which will cater for most audiences, I'd guess!In addition, the build quality is very good, with a reinforced frame and a vertical closure system, which is quite handy, as it ensures that the ironing board remains closed. On the other hand, however, I don't think the quality of the plastic covers on the ironing base are of good quality, as one fell of it whilst closed, hit a glass and broke! I don't know whether I should blame the plastic cover, the glass or the angle of the drop, but it did!Like some other reviewers have already mentioned, I would have liked the padding to be thicker, as this has been something that I have come across when using a steam generator to iron with. Thin padding allows for steam to escape very quickly and one has to work harder; this is only my opinion, but I had re-padded my previous ironing board myself and found that it worked for me. The ironing cover is of good quality and it does not create any snags.The plate for the iron / steam generator is equally huge and will take most irons / steam generators out there. Finally, I would have liked the manufacturers to have taken greater care when packaging, as when I unwrapped the board, I had to use a lint roller due to all the fluff coming from the board cover! This is something minute, but it might have impacted the quality of the end result.Overall, a very sturdy product that would satisfy most people's needs when it comes to ironing!

wow....this a whopper of an ironing board!!! - it is huge - approx. 5 foot by 1.5 foot.For me this is totally impractical for general household use - it is massive - my wife didn't know if it was for ironing on or going surfing on!!!To be fair - this would be ideal for ironing curtains, table cloths or other large items - the iron tray is large enough to hold a large steam generating iron with base ( I think that this is what it is designed for). So if you have a business or ironing room this would suit.I cannot fault the quality of the board itself - superbly constructed ( it is quite heavy as well) ...and has four positioning heights to suit everyone. The ironing surface is well padded and even so you will not get any marks from underneath coming through onto the fabric.It is a quality product - just will be a bit too big and bulky for the majority of households.
