Beautiful!
Without close inspection, this wine he could pass for a very expensive one. the first one I received had a wood chip that was artfully, but undeniably filled by wood glue. The seller was gracious enough to send me a replacement. The replacement was of satisfactory quality. If tiny gaps between the wood and the key are going to bother you, then buy a more expensive wine key. Aside from nitpicky details of how the wood is fitted into this key the only thing I can begin to negatively critique about this one key. Extremely solid, almost to the point where it needs to be broken in! Foil cutter is nice and sharp and allows for a clean cut.

Solid wine key but hardly worth the price tag
Been using it for a couple days now in the restaurant I work in. Definitely looks good and seems to be well constructed but when comparing it to other corkscrews of similar caliber I just can't justify the price. If this key was $15 instead of $33 I'd give it five stars and recommend it to everyone I know. The fact that there is minimal noticeable difference between this key and the key's I've been given from my wine distributor suggest that the benefits of this key come heavily from it's cosmetic appearance. I'll continue to use it until I've worn it out and maybe it will grow on my in time but as of now the extra money doesn't seem worth it.

Gorgeous and very functional.
Bought one for myself and one as a gift. Great packaging. Blade is actually so utilitarian I had to practice not over doing it. Careful! Fulcrum force of a single hinge. Practice on some cheap bottles before giving full service.

Weak Rivet Joint Causes Puller to Dangle...
Overall the construction is really well done. The knife is larger than most, and it is strong (almost too strong, if you aren't careful you can chip the glass of the wine bottle). The only negative thing is that with a lot of use the rivet that holds the two-step cork puller in place loosens up and that part dangles freely. If this would have been an adjustable screw or bolt this could easily be fixed. But it is a weak, probably aluminum rivet that nothing can be done to. Definitely not made for a waiter/bartender who would be opening several bottles a night...I'd say I opened around fifty before it really loosened up.

has excellent heft in the hand and is very well constructed
This corkscrew is very attractive, has excellent heft in the hand and is very well constructed. The problem is design related. The screw isn't long enough and of a wide enough bore to really work well on aged wine bottles, I have had the corks break in half on too many bottles recently leaving half the cork in the neck and having to dig it out. It is better than the garbage Rabbit openers but I expected better. I would guess that if you are only opening young bottles of wine that this would do just fine but on a more delicate cork this device fails repeatedly.

Over the Moon!!!
I love the weight and balance of this corkscrew. The blade is a great length with a good edge on it. No problems with any foils whatsoever at this stage. All the joints seem tight enough at this stage. I am curious to see how they loosen. Hopefully, not too much.It feels perfect in my hand. I think it looks spectacular; with some nice subtle detailing. I am ecstatic about the purchase.

Looks over Functionality - pretty, but doesnt do the job
This is a beautiful piece but have to say I feel It is cheaply made. The corkscrew is now "askew" just after a couple of uses. The metal used for the screw is not that strong and now I have an angled sideways screw portion. This negatively affects the way the cork comes out of the bottle, it takes much elbow grease to even get it out and now that it is at an angle the hinge tears up the cork on its exit. The knife is serious too... I cut myself the first day of use.Reviews for this were all 5 stars, I could not find anything really bad written about this piece which is why I got it (and it was also on a HUGE sale, $150 dropped down to $35 - which could also explain the poor craftsmanship) I am beginning to think that the reviews might have been fake ones or these people do not work in the restaurant industry to know that when you are opening over 30 bottles a night, you need something durable and well made. I guess sometimes people prefer looks over functionality. If this is one that sits in your drawer at home and opens a bottle or two a week, then its probably a perfect addition to make your wine tools look even more pro. However, would not recommend this for bartenders or sommeliers. Will try to return.

Must have for real wine enthusiasts
Bought this for my brother in law who is a wine enthusiast. It is a classy looking old school opener with the benefit of a double-hinge system makes opening any bottle a breeze. Real wood looks great and box it comes in makes it worthy of a special gift.
