Kelp for home made dog food
Fantastic product, came packaged well and easy to seal back up. I use this in my pups food. I make his food fresh and home made, I use the recommended amount given by a canine nutritionist I follow and have virtually met with before to perfect Milo's (my pup) meal plan. This specific kelp powder has a very light smell, it is easy to use and dissolves quickly into the food by just mixing it into the meat and veg. I also use organic powdered egg shell and Carn4 seed mix in place of his multi vitamin as a combo of seeds were put in place of his multi vitamin since the specific multivitamin we want no longer ships from the UK. Remember to consult your vet and/or pet nutritionist if you have one before giving your pet any new supplements. Kelp has many health benefits for a dog including improved skin and coat condition, enhanced immune function, better digestive health, and support for thyroid and metabolic functions due to its rich nutrient profile. Also good for dental health! This product will last us for months since the bag is pretty big and completely filled, great value for money considering all of the benefits and size.

Top quality stuff
I've been buying Starwest stuff for quite awhile and so had little hesitation in ordering this product. Again, they came through with a perfect product, packaged perfectly, and delivered in a timely manner This kelp is extremely fine consistency and has virtually no moisture in it if any. There are no clumps and the color is appropriate for dried kelp. There is a bit of an ocean smell to it, but it comes from the ocean, so what would you expect. To me, that says it's fresh. There is also an appropriate sweet smell to it and if used properly, will also add a bit of non-sugary sweetness to whatever you put it in. There are right ways and wrong ways to use powdered kelp, and if you aren't used to the product, then you should always seek to put it in something else. It makes a great dashi, fantastic smoothies, and mighty fine baked goods. For those people who complain because it sticks to the roof of your mouth, of course it does. It's powder and not meant to be eaten. Flour and corn starch do the same thing, so downgrading it on that basis is just plain silly. Powdered kelp is a grey-green or you might call it olive green. It is not bright grass green as some people apparently are confused. I will leave the bio-nutritional value to other websites and comments. But if you want kelp, this is a good product. Please just don't downgrade it because it looks, smells, and tastes like kelp.

Very pleased with product and seller
I have ordered this product multiple times and am always pleased with what I receive. I am also pleased with the seller and customer service as I had a delivery issue once and they were quick to respond and resolve my issue. Much appreciated!

Tastes horrible, but it's high quality and a lot of it
This tastes so horrible. I really wasn't prepared for how bad this was. This doesn't even taste like seaweed. It tastes like rotten fish. You know how about one out of every twenty beaches smells really, really bad? I'm sure that they harvested this seaweed from that beach. I know that there are a whole bunch of other people who are warning you about the horrific taste, but please don't make my mistake and get this for protein shakes. I have an iron stomach, and I can usually handle anything. But, I had three protein shakes that were about 1/3rd kelp powder, and I'm not able to ever eat any more kelp. I didn't actually throw this up, but I did have to lie down and do meditation after consuming it. It's a way different and more decomposing-tasting kelp than the other ones that I've tried. Okay, now that I've warned you about how bad it tastes, even if you're used to bad tasting things, this can be used for a ton of other stuff. You can feed it to dogs, you can use it for fertilizer, you can use it on your hair and on your skin, you can keep it around in case of accidental radiation poisoning, and you can use it for practical jokes. At all of these uses, I rate it a 5/5. Just, please don't get this full pound intending on eating it all, like I did.

Very Healthy Stuff!
I use this brand of kelp to add to my miso soup. For flavor I used to add sections of cut up kelp leaves to the water I am boiling only to throw them away. The problem was the Japanese kelp set off my Geiger counter and was radioactive. Over double background radiation, so I started using this brand because I couldn't find Icelandic kelp. I can only find it ground. But that's OK. It does add a strong bitter flavor to my miso soup. I use Wakame seaweed as the vegetable. It's cheap and comes already cut up so I can just sprinkle it in. I also add bonito which is dried and smoked tuna. Tastes yummy and the soup is very healthy. Got rid of 90 percent of my back pain without adding the kelp' but adding this brand of kelp got rid of that last ten percent! The Japanese kelp actually gave me achy flu like symptoms. I'm so glad I discovered this! I was looking for Icelandic kelp leaves but this is cheaper and a zillion times healthier! Almost forgot to mention; I also add miso. Wouldn't be miso soup without that, now would it?

good quality
Kelp is kelp. It's not used for its taste, that's for sure. I use it for help falling asleep. Every time I take it, I dream. And when it's time to get up, I have energy, even on nights when I should've gone to bed sooner. The nights I forget to take it, I can tell within fifteen minutes, because I fall asleep so easily with it. I pack it in capsules myself to save money. Also so that I will take it cause I still can't stand the taste. I take 2-3 capsules at bedtime, and on days I start to drag or get moody, I take it then too for an energy boost. I know that sounds contradictory, but it just gives your body what it needs to do what it's supposed to be doing. I also use this in a face mask and a hair mask I make. My wrinkles smooth out when I do the mask, and my skin takes on a nice tone. With the hair mask, when I use kelp, it just looks so colorful and vibrant. I love it.
