Great tool
I had that oil filter stuck on Toyota Corolla, couldn't get a grip with Knipex water pump pliers as there were no room to get that sucker on the right angle. A bit of a help from old Mr. Google I decided to go with a 3 legged wrench. The Amtech one had great reviews but was out of stock, another alternative was Banco, but it was around 17 pounds, so I opted for the Amtech which was available on Amazon warehouse deals used. Got it for 7 pounds. Worked on the first twist. And it doesn't look like it's made out of dough. Comes with 3/4 to 1/2 inch adaptor, gives you some flexibility too. Great tool!

Bit fiddly at first but once you get the idea.....
So needed a wrench to remove an oil filter from a Hyundai i30. Mann oil filters sometimes do a specific oil removal tool for their filters but there isn't one for these cars.Found this wrench after searching online and this came up. You need a 1/2 inch ratchet and all you do is connect it and then get the 3 legs wrapped round the filter. Start turning it to undo the filter. The old one was a little tight but this made it a breeze to remove. It does make a little indentation on the old filter but it doesn't matter as its getting binned. You can also use it to give it a little tighten or nip up after you have turned it by hand.Great tool and one for the toolkit for a DIY mechanic.

Makes oil changes easy
Did the job easily on my Mk6 Fiesta. As for how this tool operates, as you turn your ratchet the 3 legs turn inwards and grip the filter and you then just turn the filter off nice and easily. This should fit every can-type oil filter as it extends quite far out. Used a regular sized ratchet with a 3/8 to 1/2 inch adapter and only just had enough space to turn it, so just check your filter isn't in a crowded place.Only down side is that center part isn't secure so you have to make sure you hold the clamp securely so it can't fall out.

3-Leg filter remover good job
The three-leg oil filter remover did a good job. It was used on a 2006 Honda Civic 5-door which has a small oil filter encased in a housing with a cap which needs to be removed in order to change the filter. This device did the job, thought the inner surface of the legs are somewhat slippery.

Access is terrible so can't get a full hand grip so have ...
I've been struggling for years removing the oil filter on my wife's Zafira. Access is terrible so can't get a full hand grip so have always had to resort to piercing it with a long screwdriver and hammer - oil everywhere. Finally got prepped this time and bought this - absolutely brilliant ! Once on, tighten the grips by twisting the back nut, couple of turns of the socket driver and its loose enough to turn off. Love it. Highly recommended. Great for tightening the new filter to. Does not damage the filter.

It is useless and does not work
Completely useless. It cannot grip and just slips when tested. Do not buy this

Fantastic bit of kit.
Was really struggling to remove the oil filter on my 944 but this worked in under a minute. Looks and feels well made. I found it worked much better than a strap-type removal tool and doesn't cost much more.
