Good little pin nailer
Impulse purchase but well worth it. Shoots tiny pins that’s good for holding mouldings in place while glue dries. Good for beading around laminate floor too.Just make sure you put the nails in the right way… had them in the way the arrow was pointing, one would assume the arrow points towards the business end… no. They were curling into almost circles. Turning them round and they are nice and straight. Not the guns fault but initially I thought it was.

Works great.
I bought this for fine work. First project is a solid English oak and 12mm oak veneer MDF jewellery box. The nail gun works great in 12mm as I tried my second fix paslode and the nails split the MDF. These pins do a great job. This pin gun is designed for fine trim and beading work as the 23g pins are tiny. The photo is a comparison of second fix paslode nails and the pins the are used in the pin gun. There are 100 pins in the strip

Had a job fitting oak 4mm x 15mm trim, i new my paslode 16g pin gun would split it nearly every pin. I Used 18mm pins in the Makita and shot every one fine . I was a bit wary about buying this after seeing so many bad reviews although Most reviews seem to be from America where they’ve been using a cheap brand of pins( Porter cable) . On Makitas website they sell two different types of pins one for airguns and one for cordless, I would presume they’re both the same, although the pins for the cordless cost twice as much. If they don’t break the shaft I will pay the extra! Fantastic tool so far not needed as much as my 16g tool but for small trim I wished I’d brought it years ago. You can only just see the pin whole😉

Makita nailer
Bought this on August 30th 2023, used it a few times mainly on 9mm MDF, today fired a pin in and a piece of metal fell out of the firing section, the drive mechanism has broken so it wont fire any pins now at all. This was not cheap. How do i complain and get this sorted, i want it replacing.I have spent a vast amount of money through and with Amazon, if this is'nt sorted i'll go elsewhere for tools etcEDIT: THIS GUN HAS BEEN BACK TO MAKITA FOR REPAIR TWICE ALREADY, TODAY IT BROKE AGAIN, FIRING PIN YET AGAIN, SO NOW I HAVE HAD TO BUY ANOTHER CHEAPISH ONE TOGET A JOB FINISHED.*COME ON MAKITA GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER, THIS IS JUST OVER A YEAR OLD AND BEEN IN FOR REPAIR 3 TIMES, FOR THE PRICE PAID IT SHOULDNT BE HAPPENING, I'M GOING TO START BUY A DIFFERENT MAKE OF TOOL FROM NOW ON, THE RELIABILITY OF THIS PRODUCT IS SHOCKING, AS A SIDE NOTE IT BROKE AGAIN PINNING 4MM MDF 😡
