Sturdy. The measuring scale on the main piece in using the metric system, which I really like.The winged bolt is difficult to really tighten as the screw keeps on following it. So either one uses a screwdriver to tighten/loosen it every time or one doesn't mind if the wooden piece moves back/goes slightly sideways as one is using the cutter.
