Picture Perfect!
My girlfriend bought me this set for Christmas but I’ve been using these pens for years and I love them. I use them both by themselves for intricate small pieces or mostly as a complimentary source for my multimedia work alongside my promarkers and copics and my coloured pencils. Very well made, last a long time and are all replaceable which is a huge bonus and the colours are striking and vibrant not to mention most colours are colourfast, some very. Also the brush nibs are just great, so nice to use. Even, smooth flow and because of the fine brush they give varied results on the paper and with a bit of practice you will be surprised what they are capable of. To sum up these pens are excellent on all fronts and the presentation box is ace and even has pull out draws. Well worth the money.

Not enough info
I think the product info should mention the list of the colours especially since they have individual codes. I give the product 5 stars because these are probably the best pens I have ever touched but the info available is sorely incomplete! These are the 48 colors available in the box: 102 Cream 103 Ivory 104 Light Yellow Glaze 107 Cadmium Yellow 109 Dark Chrome Yellow 110 Phthalo Blue 112 Leaf Green 113 Orange Glaze 118 Scarlet Red 120 Ultramarine 125 Middle Purple Pink 126 Permanent Carmine 127 Pink Carmine 129 Pink Madder Lake 131 Medium Flesh 132 Light Flesh 133 Magenta 134 Crimson 136 Purple Violet 146 Smalt Blue 153 Cobalt Turquoise 154 Light Cobalt Turquoise 156 Cobalt Green 160 Manganese Violet 162 Light Phthalo Green 167 Permanent Green Olive 169 Caput Mortuum 170 May Green 171 Light Green 174 Chrome Green Opaque 175 Dark Sepia 177 Walnut Brown 180 Raw Umber 184 Dark Naples Ochre 186 Terracotta 188 Sanguine 189 Cinnamon 192 Indian Red 199 Black 232 Cold Gray III 233 Cold Gray IV 235 Cold Gray VI 247 Indianthrene Blue 264 Dark Phthalo Green 268 Green Gold 272 Warm Gray III 273 Warm Gray IV 274 Warm Gray V As the price hints, these are not children pens... but what a joy for a spoiled adult!

Very nice for illustration
Nabbed these on Black Friday for £75. Lovely for illustrations and cartoons and they blend into each other very well. Not so useful if you create realism artwork though. Each pen has the lightfastness rating on them and only 2 out of the set are not lightfast. (Light green and light yellow, if I remember correctly) which would have been a deal breaker for me if they weren't. They are also waterproof when dry which is very useful for mixed media projects. Personally, I use them in combination with Caran D'Ache Neocolor ii which are water soluble and have found they work really well together. You could also use them in combination with coloured pencils for creating an underlayer however the range of colours feels a little limited. If there's one thing not so great about them, it's the range of colours. I can't help but feel the set is a little lacking. The reds for example are a bit disappointing as none of them are a very bright red - whereas you get the opposite for browns with no soft or yellowy browns to play with, making drawing mammals a little difficult without using shades that are far too dark. That said there area lot of nice fleshy colours for human portraiture though. I'm still happy with them all in all. It's just something to bear in mind if you draw a lot of wildlife like I do.

Outstanding pens, offering value for money even at a rather high price
An outstanding box selection of Faber-Castell felt tips - top quality colours, excellent pens, well presented. I tend to buy one of these every year for myself and one as a gift, and am never disappointed. Its expensive, but the felt tips are artist quality - you can use them for proper illustration, not just kids scrawlings - and they last for a very long time indeed. If you're looking to buy these, go for the 40 or 60 pen sets for a massive selection of writing tools you'll never get tired of. If this sounds like an unduly uncritical review, I guess thats because its hard to find any negatives to say about these pens. They really are quite outstanding, even at what is quite an expensive price point.

Best felt tips you will ever use!
I love a big set of felt tip pens, I like them in order, lights to dark within a colour range and these pens are simply the best I have ever used! The colours are exceptional and not run of the mill, the nibs are perfect, not too thin, not too fat and they do not blob or leave bits of felt all over your work. The other point worth mentioning is the coverage, the ink goes on like watercolour paint and blends really well with ink that has already dried. Pricey I agree but totally worth it, probably not suitable for young children but great for professionals or if like me you like to do a bit of relaxing colouring!

They cover smoothly and there is a fantastic colour range
These are fabulous pens. They cover smoothly and there is a fantastic colour range. The colours become slightly lighter when they've dried but produce lovely soft colours. The very tips of the brushes lose their firmness after a while but this doesn't cause any problems. I've been using them for a few months now and there's no sign of the ink drying out. I also like the fact that if some colours are used more than others, which is going to be the case, then individual pens can be purchased as all the numbers/colours are on the side of the pens. I know they're expensive but they are well worth it, particularly for colouring larger areas.

Worth the money
Although they appear expensive it is worth paying if you are able. These apply beautiful colour and the ability to brush calligraphy with these is superior to others. The brush is not too firm but just right for brush lettering and fine colouring equally. They do not dry out and the box is a useful storage.
