This deck has modern illustrations of the Rider Waite Smith Deck cards
The Everyday Witch Tarot should not be confused with the Everyday Witch Oracle Cards, they are different. Tarot decks always have 78 cards, while Oracle decks can have any number of cards. Most modern decks are based on the 1910 Rider Waite deck, that is also known as the Rider Waite Smith Deck, or RWS for short, The Everyday Witch Tarot is fairly closely based on the RWS deck, and comes with its own book. As most tarot books are on the RWS deck, so RWS based deck are generally recommended for beginners. This deck has modern illustrations for the cards, that differ from the original RWS deck, but with most cards in this deck if you compare individual cards with the RWS, you can see that they are modern illustrations of the same theme. Some illustration greatly differ from the original RWS drawings and have some what different meaning. The meanings in the book included include a short humorous meaning making reading fun. Most meanings in the book that comes with the deck, are an individual’s interoperation of the original RWS meaning, that can be clearer. As a second deck I thoroughly recommend it, second decks broaden your understanding of the cards. As first deck, because of were it differs from the RWS decks, and hence most tarot books, makes me hesitant to recommend it, but if you are drawn to this deck then go for it.

Beautiful cards
I love these tarot cards. The artwork is amazing. I connected to them immediately and have received some beautiful messages. They are slightly flimsier than my other cards, but I think they are great. I will get great use out of them.

Excellent tarot deck
This is a lovely tarot deck and has been a firm favourite. The pictures have lots of detail and are clear - which greatly helps with interpretation. It also comes in a lovely box with a large book (A5 size) to explain each of the cards. Before buying the deck I noted that other reviews mentioned that the cards are very thin. They are, but this isn't a problem since they are made of good quality card and extremely well sealed. After about two months of fairly constant use not one card is bent or worn at the edges etc. In fact, being so thin is an advantage over other cards I have since these cards are all one sealed piece, whereas other thicker cards, can be less well sealed and more of two pieces put together. What I have noticed is that the thicker cards become worn and torn at the edges (from shuffling) because they are not a one piece sealed card. I hope this makes sense. In short - I'd highly recommend these cards and don't think that being thin is a problem at all. In fact, it is a bit of an advantage to wear and tear!

LOVE IT!
The packaging on this deck is absolutely lovely and the companion book great quality, has stunning artwork with a decent amount of information, perfect for beginners. I have read a lot about the card stock being flimsy and not great quality but I have to disagree. I have a few cards similar quality and I have found they are easier to shuffle and seem to last longer, only time will tell how durable they are but for now I am happy. Overall this deck is amazing, well worth the money, you definitely get what you pay for, can't say enough good things about it.

Exactly what I'd hoped they'd be!!
Am so over the moon with these tarot cards and I immediately connected with them. I read all the reviews - positive and negative - before purchasing them, but was so drawn to them, I thought I'd buy them anyway. They arrived in a matter of days and as I initially sat looking through them, I knew they were the cards for me. The images are fabulous, incorporating the traditional symbols etc, but with a great new modern slant to them. I've read the book from cover to cover and find it incredibly easy to relate to what is written. Nothing too complex incorporated and an easy to read writing style. Now to spend more time using them...……. A really lovely tarot deck.

A spellbindingly beautiful deck
This is a really *beautiful* deck of tarot - artist Elizabeth Alba has done a wonderful job of depicting the cards. As the reviewer for Pagan Dawn magazine said: "Any 'Chariot' card involving a motorcycle...". And the witch on the 'Judgement' card looks like she's part of a Blackmore's Night concert! There are lots of cats in this deck, not all of them black(!), and they manage to be both part of the action and 'in the background' - very nicely done. My one real quibble is that in the suites both the Knights and the Pages are depicted as male (some other decks make the Pages female), but I guess this was done because a majority of all the other cards depict female characters. Though I must admit, I had hoped for something quite different for 'Death', and feel this is the only one which does not quite fit. The complaints about the thickness of the card deck are totally out of proportion. Whilst they are not as thick as some decks, with careful handling they are of a perfectly acceptable (and workable) quality - they are about the same thickness as the Buckland Romany deck.

I was very drawn to this deck and happy to receive the beautiful box with book and cards. At first I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the cards. The very first time I shuffled the deck I damaged a card. I might be clumsy, but still, you should be able to shuffle without bending and making creases in the cards so easily. But after using them I'm actually very happy, they're light and the artwork is beautiful. It takes me back to childhood and picture books. The guide book is great for beginners like me.

I just got this deck a couple days ago but it so immediately has become my favourite tarot deck I've ever owned...and I have a lot of decks! I'm not a witch, nor have I read Deborah Blake's book but I ADORE this deck. I do love cats and they are so so so adorable in this deck. I love the box they come in, keeping them safe with a nice magnetic closure. The accompanying book is beautiful, witty, easy to read and FULL colour! My ONLY complaint, as stated by others as well, is the card stock. It's very flimsy. That being said, I always treat my cards with great care so they should be ok for years to come. I can see them getting a bit bent with shuffling, but that's ok. I so very highly recommend this deck. It's my #1!

Beautiful deck of cards - I LOVE the illustrations! They give you a real fairytale feel. Great book as well - definitely comes in handy as the interpretations are really well written. Beginners will benefit greatly. I don't agree with those who say the cards are paper thin and can't be shuffled. They are no thinner than my previous tarot deck. If you are used to oracle cards, however, they may feel thin. Good quality, though!
