WALKER AND HAWKES - Original Wax Cotton Dressing Reproof protection for Clothing/Jackets

We used this to re-wax a Barbour jacket that needed re-waxing after we did the cardinal sin of putting the jacket in the washing machine due to it having mildew/mould on it. We firstly applied two coats of Nikwax for wax jackets solution on it. After that dried we rubbed this in to achieve a great result. We now have a Barbour jacket that is waterproof, that looks and smells like new. One tip - Make sure you follow the instructions and place the tin in a warm pan of water before use. If you don’t it will be too solid to apply. Do what they recommend and it’s great to use, and much cheaper than Barbour’s own Wax.

Bought this to rewax my husbands Orvis hat. It did the job brilliantly and saved £40 on buying a new one. Can't complain. I'd say to use a latex glove to apply though rather than a cloth, far easier to get into to nooks and crannys. A cloth to buff once applied.

Wax is easy to apply, low odor and my second-hand Barbour is actually waterproof now!My coat hasn't been waxed in years, but the 200ml tin is more than enough to do the whole thing. I'm doing it in stages as it's taking many hours. You can see the difference between the waxed front and the unwaxed sleeves!My method has been to apply a thick layer of wax (cold) in small circular motions with a cotton rag. Apply liberally around seams. Then heat with a hairdryer on high, until it looks wet, to help it soak into the fabric. Let it cool slightly then wipe off any excess. Repeat as needed. The rain just rolls off now 😁

I've never rewaxed a jacket before and as my Belstaff needed some TLC, I thought let's give this a bash. I watched numerous videos on how to do it and I expected it to be messy. Not with this stuff it wasn't, there is no odour and the wax goes on really well from the tin. My top tips:Don't use a sponge, use a microfiber cloth. I didn't end up wasting loads of wax this way, and it spread well.Use a hairdryer to heat the top of the wax in the tin.Use a hairdryer to help spread the wax to get in the seams amd spread evenly.

As expected

I used this to maintain a wax jacket and also a flying jacket. It did a good job for the price and quantity. I would recommend regularly placing it back it warm water, in case it cools down too much. I would also make sure you check the quantity you've ordered. I expected to be sent the same size as in the picture, whereas it was the size of a shoe polish tin.

I was expecting the large size.

Usato per ricerare giacconi Belstaff e Barbour. Dopo averlo scaldato a bagnomaria si stende con un pennello o un panno. Io lo ripasso poi scaldandolo con un phon per farlo penetrare uniformemente. Non lascia odore ma va lasciato più di 24 ore perche si asciughi. Tende un pò a scurire il tessuto comunque ottimo
