Is the band one piece? Does it slip through behind the watch back? Skin sensitivity to metal contact.

The back of the watch is stainless steel and it will be touching your skin once on your wrist.

Ok...this might be a silly question. I know it says running watch. My question is will it count steps while I walk?

No... It lets you time laps, or miles, or times between two points. Step counters are just "estimaters" usually not accurate. So, say you measure out a mile and you run that in 10 minutes. If you measure your running stride (say for example 8 strides in 20 feet running at your normal pace) that would be 30 inches. With 15,360 inches in a mile you would have 512 "steps" or "paces." You also will have to correct for walking, shorter strides, and step counters treat all steps the same even if you move 10 inches, shorter than a walking stride.

Is there an option to remove the year from the display? Or to add a P or A (for pm or am)?

Yes, you can remove the date, however you cannot add 'am' or 'pm'. You do have an option to set it to military time, though.
