First impressions of this emergency survival kit-small footprint in my bug-out-bag
12.99 for this emergency survival gear. They are going in my bug-out-bag. First impressions: gloves are THIN and small in size; whistle is plastic and may be susceptible to breaking in extreme situations; magnesium fire starter looks to be of usable quality; the saw would work but results would take some effort muscles and patience. All items, less the gloves fit into the included pouch. $9.99 might be a better price point, but if I find myself ever needing this in a real emergency survival situation, then the $13 spent would be the deal of the century. Remember, when the muck hits the fan and you find yourself needing items like this, then it is mostly likely too late to get one. Prepare when you can and hope that you never have to used them in a life or death situation, but you will be glad that you have them when you truly need them.Texas Knowhow Tip: The black on the magnesium rod is only a coating and you should scrap it off with your straight edge tool that is attached to it. Once you see the silver magnesium under the black coating on the rod, then you can get a good spark for lighting your tender. Practice with quick and firm downward strikes with the flat tool to the mag rod to produce spark. Makeshift tender such as cotton balls dabbed in Vasoline will produce a long burning tender to help you start your fire. ONLY practice outside and in a safe clearing or in a pit of some sort to contain the fire. And minors should be supervised in this practice.

Best Hand Chainsaw Kit for Home or Camping!
I purchased two of these for my sons who have put together their Emergency Bags in case of a natural disaster, and they have to head to the mountains out in Washington state. It is very easy to use to cutdown small to medium size dead beaches to use for fire wood. The kit also comes with a flint fire starter; which is very handy, and a couple other important items to have when you are roughing it in the wild.I purchased a third kit for me to use around my front and backyards for trimming small live branches that are too big for a pruner, but too small to use a gas/electric powered chainsaw; which is too awkyfor me anyway. It works so well for a 68 year old woman who does all off her own yard work and has at 20 trees around the house. It’s an awesome inexpensive kit with a very strong chainsaw with very sharp teeth for cutting. So, whether you need this kit for home or camping it’s wirth every penny, and compared to other hand chainsaws this one is the best value you will find.

It actually works
The media could not be loaded. Good little survival kit that is compact and include a saw. Was able to cut through a small branch without any problem. Definately can cut up some wood and using the fire starter to start a fire with some dried weed.Hope never had to use it but good to have as emergency and teach my boy how to use it if needed.

Doesn't cut dry softwood...
Used on dry pine, gave up after 15 minutes.

Sturdy and compact. Great for emergency packs. Gloves a plus.
Bought these to put in emergency backpacks for my daughter and son-in-law’s cars. They loved them. We all work so far from home, wanted to make sure had things if needed in emergency and outdoor needs.

A must in the backcountry
I carry this in my snowmobile all the tome and is great to have Incase that tree is down across the trail or you need to cut wood to start a fire. I would be dumb not to have this in my essentials pack

I wasn't even sure the saw would work at all ...
I wasn't even sure the saw would work at all - but it does. I've used it over 3 times now during camping trips! The lighter also works - but don't expect to light dry paper with it. Gotta pour some ethanol or gasoline first.

Get one, for every kit you make.
Easy to use, light weight, and effective. I added it to my bug out kit. Fuel for a fire is essential, for a survival situation. this is an easy tool that works well, at an affordable price.

Expensive rubbish
The gloves do not protect your hands, they make the job harder as they easily get caught and before long they are ripped to shreds. The saw easily bends sideways and moves around making it hard to start cuttin.Once you are able to start cutting it takes a long time as the saw is blunt. The carry bag does not last long at all, it soon starts falling apart.I don't know how good the flint is as I always use a lighter or matches to easily start a fire! I have not been able to a wood fire with a flint as a flint does not produce enough heat for long enough! So over all quite a poor product!
