Oral-B Pro 500 Electric Toothbrush with (1) Brush Head, Rechargeable, Black

I have been a Oral-B user for many years with very good results. Finally came time to replace my well used and worn out model and after a lot of researching of their current products, I choose this one. Just happens to be one of their lowest cost electric brushes also! I just wanted something to do a good job at cleaning my teeth and did not need or want all the other "fancy bells and whistles" that they try to sell for much higher prices. And for me, all that other "stuff", is just waste of money.Pro's -1. Does a very good job at cleaning teeth.2. This model has 3 (three) power levels not just 2as description says. Maybe newer model and justnot updated listing? Three is better than two!3. This "cheaper" model will take the "older" styleof replacement heads. Newer more expensivemodels take a different style of replacementhead that tends to be more expensive.4. This version of Oral-B electric toothbrush has a"rubberized" coating that makes it much easierto hold on to. Most all other models don't havethis type of coating and when it gets wet,becomes very slippery.Con's -1. I do wish it had a charging indicator light. But,considering that this is a lower priced "base"model, I have nothing to complain about.To me, this is a great electric toothbrush at a very fair price.***And to those that complain about their toothbrush heads getting really dirty and "gross" inside the brush head. Easy fix! When you are finished brushing, take the brush head off and run water through the bottom. Problem fixed! All nice and clean! Not sure why adults can't figure that out for themselves!? ***

I purchased this product for my son, who recently received braces. It functions as intended and has been well-received by my son.

The Oral-B Pro 500 provides a great value in a basic electric toothbrush. Used correctly it does a great job, is well made, and will give you a few years of twice-daily use. It comes with one basic brush head, but I changed it out with the Oral-B "Floss Action" type brush head which has been my preferred type for years. In addition to the "2 minute timer" feature, this model also gives "30 second" alerts that correspond to the recommended time to spend brushing each quadrant. That's a bit to regimented for me, and I ignore all but the 2 minute alert. You might find the 30-second alerts to be a useful feature, though.I've had similar lower-priced Oral-B electrics before, and my only complaint is that after the first few months of ownership the batteries begin to require more frequent recharging. But these toothbrushes dependably provided 3 years of use, and I haven't seen the need to pay $100 or more for a "better" electric toothbrush.

I like this 500 model a bit better than the 1000 model we had. I like that it offers 3 speeds and that the unit is mostly rubber. Also, I love that it uses the older heads, but my favorite part is that it doesn't seem to create as big of a mess on its charging stand. The 1000 seems to drain any excess water and saliva in the charging base, which builds up and dries, and then requires a jackhammer to clean. I have noticed a little buildup but not as bad. Maybe I'm managing it better but it does seem like less of a mess. I would buy another.

A great tooth brush! I bought my first Oral B tooth brush in Centurion, South Africa in the 1990s. This greatly improved my oral hygiene. This tooth brush handle comes with a brush and a 110v charger.... everything you need! This is the 3rd Oral B, including the one I got in S. Africa. I'm over 80yrs old and I have all of my teeth! I recommend it without reservation!

Really good price. It doesn't show the power level. No warning for low batter. No light on when charge. It only needs 3 hours for charging, that's much better than my old electric toothbrush. The battery last 4-5 days. I agree with other reviewers, the 3 speed modes may not be necessary.

My ex had the top tier version of this and the only difference is this one doesn't have the pressure detection to make sure you're not applying too much or too little pressure and there's no light to tell you if it's charged, charging or low battery. Other than that, this is pretty similar to their more expensive option. 3 speeds for the brush head, 30 second timer for each quadrant for a total of 2 minute brushing time, nice and powerful, quiet, easy to use. Small round brush head that oscillates gives me a really great feeling after I'm finished. I don't know how long the battery life is, I keep it on the charger when not in use. Easy to change the brush heads for multiple users and small enough to pack up for travel.
