What size is the train? G-scale?

Hi I am not sure but they are perfect size for my Christmas village the trains are about 3-4 inches in height and about 4-5 inches in length depending on the type of car hope this helps I have had them for 2 years now and I am very happy with them

I cannot find anywhere to place 3 AA batteries in the Starlight Express train set. Where specifically are these inserted?
