My kids favorite
This book has been a staple in our home for a year. We repeatedly checked it out from the library so I finally bought it. It’s cute and funny and unexpected. The kids love the story and the pictures. We will be reading this one for years to come. For reference my kids are 4 and 2

Enjoyed by parents and kiddo!
We love Jon Klassen illustrations and books! This one is a non exception. His stories are full of wisdom, dark humor (that doesn't scare a toddler away), wits and unexpected events. I can see that this will never get old in our book collections. I'm really picky when choosing books for my kid and so far none of Jon's books dissapoint us.

Love Mac Barnett!
This is the latest in my collection of Mac Barnett books. They are the best books in my 3-year-old's collection, and we reach for them often. This book is hilarious!

Mac Barnett & Jon Klassen Create A Classic
First-off, I’m a fan of Mac Barnett’s writings and just as much, Jon Klassen’s timeless illustrations. I find myself as an almost 50-year old Dad as intrigued in the book as my youngest son. The storyline is cute, but a little dark, and absolutely brilliant! In the end, the duck & mouse create a wonderful bond with the wolf, and the story has a uplifting and “tasteful” ending. Jon Klassen is our era’s much-appreciated and touted illustrator as the late- Corrine Malvern was with the children’s books of the 30’s thru 50’s. COMPLETELY different style of illustrators, of course, but complimenting Klassen of the legacy that he is creating and will leave behind for decades to come.

I almost missed out on this book due to other reviews
This book is a delight, age appropriate for all ages. Do not listen to the sensitive parents. The story is not scary, and had my wife and child laughing at several parts. This is now one of our favorites and we will be recommending it to other parents with young children

Strange, but funny.
Mac Barnett has done it again. Created a story so unusual no one else could possibly have come up with it. Most creatures would find being swallowed by a wolf to be a bad thing, but the duck and mouse decide that it's not so bad. Somehow the two avoid being eaten and turn the wolf's belly into quite a comfortable home. When a hunter threatens their home, the duck and the mouse find they may have to stand up for what they have claimed as their own. Jon Klassen's dry, neutral illustrations perfectly complement the tongue-in-cheek nature of the story. This book works especially well with older readers who can appreciate the ironies inherent in the story.

Hilarious even for adults
I love reading this to my kids. Funny writing and great illustrations. Good ratio of words to pages and really briskly paced, which makes it engaging for even young toddlers. My son usually asks to read it again every time we finish!

Funny
Funny book - my 5 year old loves wolves and the Peter and the wolf book - so this was perfect for him. Almost like a continuation of the classic.
