Nice book. But did not realise the big brother gets a baby sister in the book which was no good for me as he had a baby brother.

My 5-year-old loved this book! And now she's not afraid of being a big sister anymore.

I love this author and so does my 2 year old. Whenever I buy books by this author my daughter wants to read them over and over again. Another really good book I would recommend written by Karen Katz is "Now I'm big!"

In this book, each page is devoted to comparing something the “big sister” can do that the “little sister” can not. Which I suppose is OK if your oldest child CAN dress herself, go to the potty on her own, and walk, but that means your child should be well over 2 years old before you give him or her this book. The major problem of “Best Ever Big Sister” is that it very clearly invites the older child to patronize the new baby. A parent may sometimes have to do this, but having a WHOLE BOOK about it is a big fat F YOU to the younger child_ who may someday find, read the book, and feel terrible about it.
