Value for money
Good rice. I would say the grains are on the short side and round, and rather chewy. More like Thai rice than Sasanishiki. But I need 10 kg size and I prefer Italian grown rice so this brand fits the bill. I used to get Yumenishiki but their price has gone up so this is a good alternative.

Short grain rice is the best!!
I love this rice! I'm Spanish and I'm used to the flavour of short grain rice, so I was looking for one that wasn't too expensive, since it's not that easy to find big bulks of short grain rice here in the UK. The flavour is good, you don't need to rinse it a million times to make it be good and I've tried it in many different ways. Works for sushi, for onigiri, for bowls of rice, rice with garlic and chicken, rice soup... It is a little expensive compared to the prices in Spain, but it's the best I could find here and I think it's totally worth it!Also, sometimes rice cooking instructions don't work well. It's not the case. Add the same amount of rice and water, and a little bit more of water, but not much. I use some salt, bring it to a boil, cover and cook it on low for 20 minutes. And that's it! Highly recommended. Will buy it again

Good rice but the price has increased a lot in less than a month
Good rice and good price when I bought it for £28. I find it too expensive now at £38

Good Rice for the Price
Good rice for the price. This lasts a while too. After cleaning the rice 3x over it goes into a rice cooker. Perfect every time. Good short grain rice if you like Japanese or Korean.Good to add to stews and even some soups.

Fine for table use and brilliant for brewing
I was too tight-fisted to risk my supply of Japanese-grown rice for my first attempt at brewing sake – in fact, my first attempt at any kind of homebrew – so I bought this because it was less than half the price of the premium brands. If it didn't work out, I could always find a use for the rest. There were even cheaper sushi rices available, but I stuck to Italian because I'd recently tried a Vietnamese-grown one and thought the strong aroma might be detectable in the sake.I taste-tested Haruka before brewing, though, cooking it by the same method as the Japanese rice and it proved to be perfectly acceptable to serve with meals or use for sushi. I admit I'm a bit obsessive about rice, but I would eat this happily every day. Anyway, back to the main point of buying it: the sake turned out well, and five batches later, I'd buy this brand again. It's a great general purpose rice for Japanese cooking and it's excellent value.(If this has encouraged you to try making sake, remember to keep the kasu, the dough-like sediment you squeeze out of the liquid. It's a fantastic ingredient in its own right, and at a fraction of the price of buying it ready-made. Nothing wasted!)

Good
One of my favourite bags of rice, we use it 3 or 4 times a week. I've tried cheaper kinds but this one tastes one of the best. The price has risen a lot for these bags but still worth it.

Don't agree with other reviewers.
I grew up in this east asian culture with this type of rice all my life. and to be honest, this isn't at the quality as expected. reviews were very good so bought and tried. but it's just fairly average to a bit low side of quality. definitely not the top notch!. like anybody from our culture, we use very expensive pressure rice cooker which is used for this type of rice. (please never use an ordinary pan to cook this like you just cook normal UK supermarket long grain rice!!) its ok for daily use but wouldn't purchase again as i expect the better quality.

It's passable sticky Japanese rice
We eat a lot of Japanese rice. This is the best of the cheapest short grain rice I've tried. Add a tad more water for stickier result. With Brexit, covid, and now the world being on fire, everything is overpriced so had to downgrade from our usual to pinch pennies.
