Actually awesome coffee!
First off no discount was given to me in order to solicit a review. When I first tried this coffee my gaggia espresso machine had given up after 13 busy years and so I had to grind them for my French press...... Got to be honest, for me the Arabica finish brewed this way is a bit too citrus for my taste. The longer brewing period this way allows all of the flavours to be extracted. So then I purchased a new bean to cup machine from Krups. Now this is much more like it. Set to Ristretto it makes an awesome coffee, and with the shorter brewing time and reduced water volume I get the taste I want whilst avoiding the longer citrus elements. The true test, after the finishing the first bag I ordered some different coffee beans as a replacement, highly rated signature blend type stuff........ First shot from the Krups was frankly dreadful! Only by switching to something else did I truly appreciate how good Puccini actually is.So hats off again to the gentlemen at Silat Coffee, not only fantastic guys to deal with but they roast an excellent coffee.2nd bag, the first of many is already on its way.

Average price, average quality
Since I bought a DeLonghi Magnifica espresso machine, I've been trying several coffee brands. This blend is quite good, it is strong as I like it to be, however it leaves your mouth a bit dry, with tobacco like aftertaste, and some nasty bitterness which is not present in the similarly priced Lavazza "top class" beans (which has its faults too though). Also, using a very fine grind it pours really slowly in my machine, unlike any other brand I've tried so far.All in all, it's quite okay, but I've had as strong and tastier cups even using coffee powder (from Robert Roberts and Grumpy Mule). It's not particularly cheap to justify a second buy from me.

Disappointing. No aroma, stale taste, fast disappearing crema. Not worth its price.
Disappointing. Very little aroma on opening. Strong taste - but not really of coffee; more 'stale'. Quite bitter (which I like). Fast disappearing crema. I much prefer Lavazza Grande Ristorazione Coffee Beans (1kg) or (perhaps better - and cheaper!) Douwe Egberts Dark Continental Espresso Beans 1kg. I have the Krups EA8050 Bean To Cup Coffee Machine which normally produces excellent results. Very poor value for money.

Really, Really extremely good.
Outstanding coffee, used in a bean to cup machine. Everyone who has had a drink with this coffee raves about how good it is - only one person thought it was made a touch 'strong' for them - which in fairness was the machines fault since it was set to very strong by mistake at the time.Smooth, no burnt taste, consistently outstanding as an avid coffee drinker over the years, I would say with the possible exception of Blue Mountain, it's the most drinkable, and for the price it is outstanding. Can be drunk any time of the day.

Bland Coffee Beans
Bland beans I'm afraid. Even making an espresso didn't bring anything extra out of this coffee.

A personal favourite
I have a bean to cup machine and these are now my permanent bean of choice for the espresso side of the bean hopper. Not too bitter and also good for larger black coffees. I went through the Lavazza range without finding a stand-out blend and I also tried various others (the Costa espresso isn't bad) before settling on the Puccini blend. Coffee is always a personal preference but my friends and I like this one.
