Brabantia 297960 Table Bin with Metal Lid - Matt Steel, Small

I really wanted this bin to put on my used Dulce Gusto cups into so I didn’t have to walk dripping cups across my kitchen. For this purpose, this bin is perfect!I have a baby and I’m exhausted all the time. I needed a bin that will take a good amount of pods before I have to empty it out again! I already have the Brabantia ‘Waste Bin for Tea Bags and Coffee Pods’ next to my kettle on the other side of the kitchen but I could only fit a few pods inside it and it didn’t feel big enough for bulky coffee pods. It’s perfect for used tea bags as it’s dimensions are 11 x 11 x 13.5 cm or 1L. This Brabantia ‘Table Bin’ on the other hand is much larger at 14 x 14 x 16.5 cm or 1.5L. This table bin will hold about 24 used dulce gusto cups when full so it’s ideal for regular use. If you’re considering other options, definitely don’t go for anything bigger than this if you only have a coffee once or twice a day, because it will start to smell.I love the brushed steel finish which matches my other kitchen accessories. Matte or brushed steel won’t show fingerprints like shiny stainless steel does and this just looks a little more luxurious and expensive. My kitchen is smart, modern and minimalist so this fits in well with my decor.The top section comes off to make emptying the bin easier and it holds your bin liner in place. You don’t have to use a bin liner but if you choose to, Brabantia sell 3L bags that fit this or you can get medium sized plastic bags from the shops. If you want to use a bin liner, you can, but if you want to be more eco friendly, this is fine without a liner. I have had a bin liner burst, so I can confirm this is watertight. You’ll have to wash it regularly if you don’t use a liner because the coffee and milk pods leak once you use them, so there will be liquid at the bottom of your bin as you use it. In order to wash this, I just quickly hand washed it, but you can also throw it in the dishwasher to save on time and energy.It didn’t come nicely packaged or anything, just in a weird plastic bag. Because there was no box, it was scuffed and a bit dirty once it arrived. I cleaned it up and it’s perfect now but I was disappointed with the lack of appropriate packaging.This feels like good quality. It’s made of durable stainless steel and I can see it lasting a long time. It feels sturdy and well made. Priced at £17.95 at the time of review, this is well worth the price. Buying something from the Brabantia brand, you know you’re getting a good quality item every time. This would make a great gift for someone who has just got a coffee pod machine.Overall, I love this bin and highly recommend

Solidly made, just the right size for a table/counter top bin. I use it to collect material for recycling (tea bags, coffee grounds, egg shells etc) and a Beko dog waste bag will fit the bin perfectly (and then you can compost the bag with its contents, it saves you having to clean the bin). All parts are dishwasher safe. The body of the bin has a slight lip at the top, which makes it easy to grab from the inside (straight sided bins are slippery in this respect). The hole in the lid is just the right size: you can throw things in easily but they are not visible and there is no smell.In short: well designed, easy to look after and excellently fit for purpose!

Crazy price but the perfect size and look and it functions well. Dishwasher-proof was the clincher. So worth it, despite my price-related grumble.

I thought twice about buying this because it's quite expensive, but trusted to the Brabantia name. I wasn't wrong to do so. It's so well designed for its purpose - a no touch table top bin, and very well made. I do put a liner bag into it, but that's a matter of personal choice.

Nicely made and an ideal size for the front room to save constant trips to the bin in the kitchen. Like the fact you can just throw stuff in it without the need for a swing lid but you can't see the rubbish in it due to the clever design of the lid. Has a nice finish too.

Had a new kitchen with a built in Bin put into a cupboard. Before we had a free standing pedal bin. We soon realised that opening a cupborard door everytime to sling a teabag in becomes a pain and will probably wear the door out if you drink loads of tea. This solved the problem it looks neat and is tall enough so you can't see the teabags inside.
