Whilst the clip that holds it to the desk is padded, the metal ring holding the cup in place is not. They should have supplied some kind of padded lining. As it is, this is fine for paper coffee cups and the like, but don't put your reusable plastic or ceramic or glass cups in it because it'll scratch. The unpolished metal and sharp edges also make it not human friendly at all. At this price one would expect they'd bother to sand down the sharp edges and put padding on it.

Very solid build, defenitely made to last. Fits most cups and mugs. Price is kind of steep hence 4 stars and not 5. Recommended product!
