Barbour Men's Heritage Liddesdale Jacket

I love the feel of this jacket, very soft, beautiful diamond quilt pattern. I’m 6’3” so I liked the fact that this jacket was a little long in the body. My only quibble is the sleeves were very long. I took it to a tailor who shortened them for me though and now I love the jacket.

Very stylish coat. Not a good sizing fit for everyone. I am 5’11”; 175 and usually wear mediums for sweaters. It is very snug and the arms are about right, but on the long side.

Quality wasn't quite what I expected out of a Barbour. Style on the other hand is right there. This jacket fits like a glove. I've been wearing this jacket for 2 winters and found that some of the stitches in the quilting are pulling out. None of the important stitches but still a little aggravating for a jacket of this cost. With that said you get the Barbour branding and exact cut. There are a million imitators but one Barbour. I also consistently wear this jacket in weather in the teens (F) with a sweater underneath, and down to 0 with enough layers underneath. Very versatile jacket.

I got this jacket for my husband for Christmas 2011. He's worn it many times and just loves it. He looks great in it, too. He can layer a sweater under it or even the Barbour quilted vest which he also has. I was so pleased to be able to find navy (it's a very dark navy, though) rather than black, and he doesn't look good in warm colors so the selection is more limited. After almost a year it's held up well with no complaints. I expect many more years from this.

I'll tell a short story about this jacket. My wife (who's from London) got me one few years back and I didn't like it at first as it wasn't main-stream US macho jacket. My friends also kept on asking me if they make these jackets for men. But I wore it because it was very comfortable and perfect for Southern CA weather. Now, this is my third jacket (one is worn out, and I lost another one) and some of my friends are also wearing similar ones. I guess things catch-on after a while in the US.
