Great to stay connected
XPLORA X6 Play is a great 4G watch phone for kids. It's super easy to use, and my seven and five-year-olds worked it out easily. We tried real phone but it was too much of a distraction for my eldest. I love that with 4G connectivity, your little ones can make calls and send messages, keeping them connected in a safe and convenient way. Really helpful as one of my children sometimes needs the reassurance. The Kids School Mode is a game-changer. No distractions during school hours means focused learning for your kids. It's a win-win for parents and kids! And the SOS function is fantastic. If there's an emergency, your kids can easily trigger the SOS button, giving you peace of mind. The GPS location feature lets you keep tabs on your little ones in real-time, ensuring their safety. Plus, it has a camera and pedometer too, adding to its versatility. My kids live snapping pictures on it. It's great that you get a 3-month free subscription to try out all the cool features and services. It's a must-have for parents and an exciting gadget for kids.

Terrible customer service
The watch and technology itself is very good, but the company and customer service is terrible! One month before the end of our year subscription, they blocked the watch claiming “abnormally high usage”, which was untrue as it was darker nights and the kid wasn’t going out to see friends. They then did not respond to any contact for 2 months. They charged me the higher monthly fee after all this time, switched the SIM back on for use, and sent a disgustingly unprofessional email to say “it’s all working, what’s the problem”. There is no client service number, there is no connection on their site, anything quoted is noreply mailboxes or disconnected phone numbers. I would strongly recommend any other product.

Great watch for kids & parents
Our son love his ‘grown up’ watch (as he calls it). He loves the games & taking photos on it. It's also got a step counter which he love telling us how many steps he's done. The reward system on it means kids receive 1 Xplora Coin for every 1,000 steps they take. Xplora Coins are valid in the unique Xplora's Activity Platform that features fun games, activities & exciting campaigns. He is able to message & receive messages from set contacts only, so it is safe for him to use. We message him using the Xplora app but the watch also uses a SIM card so when he's older this will be the perfect transition before he has his own phone. He absolutely loves the voice note function too! The GPS function is good, it means we can track & locate him whilst he has the watch on. At his age we don't really need to use this function but it will be perfect once he’s older & goes places on his own. It locates the watch quite accurately & we have the choice to view the location on the app as satellite or map view. There are different colours available too.

Great for younger children!
This has been the perfect option for my little boy who is just starting to go to the park by himself, we are able to add emergency contacts so that we can contact him and vice versa, all whilst knowing that he cannot make contact to anyone not in the contacts. I love that the watch looks similar to our watches and this means my little boy is super excited to wear it and feel like mummy and daddy. The battery life isn't amazing but it's say enough to put on charge every evening like we do for ours. It's easy to used for him and is just perfect for what we need it for. Overall, I would recommend the Xplora X6 Play for parents looking for a reliable and secure smartwatch for their younger children. It provides features like GPS tracking, two-way calling, and safety alerts. It's simple design and child-friendly interface make it a great first smartwatch for children, while its safety and tracking features offer peace of mind for parents. If you're looking for a device to keep your child safe and connected, without the commitment and worry of a fully-featured smartphone, the X6 Play is a great option. However, older kids might outgrow it quickly, so it’s best suited for the younger crowd

Much better & safer than expected
I bought this for my 6 year old son for him to call/message when he's staying at Grandparents. I was a little dubious at first as was worried about him making or receiving calls to unknown numbers, what really surprised me is that only contacts added via the app by a guardian can be contacted or receive calls on the watch which for me is brilliant. Messaging takes place through the app, so if family members have the app they can communicate via this, again this removes any unwanted communication and I can view all communication on the app to ensure he is safe. He absolutely loves the voice note function. The GPS function is good, it means I can track and locate him whilst he has the watch on. At his age I don't have the need to do this much but tested it out anyway, it locates the watch quite accurately and you have the choice to view the location on the app as satellite or map view. We ordered a basic sim card and this works really well in the device, it took me a while to work out set up but when I actually read the notification properly that it could take 15 minutes for the watch to activate I stopped stressing over it and it was easy from there. You need the app downloaded first and then the watch displays a QR code which you can scan and it automatically connects the watch. It took me a while to work out how to activate without purchasing a subscription if using my own sim card. The first thing I set up was the WiFi which meant I could update any software. I would recommend setting this up when your child is not around, or not telling them about the watch until its set up, my son was so excited and desperate for me to set it up that him hanging around asking if it was nearly done yet made the set up longer and more stressful for me but that's just my son not the watch itself. I love the school mode which stops any use of the watch during set times, although my son doesn't take it to school this has been really useful for bedtime, I set the mode so that he can't call or message anyone between 7pm and 9am. Other features he loves on it, the step counter, he's worn himself out running back and forth to see if it's accurate. He also loves the camera. The watch is quite big on his wrist, but not too big that it makes it impossible to wear, it's probably same size as an adult smart watch. It has good protection round it and the watch itself and the strap feel sturdy and secure so it doesn't feel like it's going to break easily which is great with something aimed at kids. Overall I'm really happy with this watch, it has enough safety features that leave me comfortable as a parent that I can monitor what he is doing and he can't hide anything and enough to keep him occupied and grown up. Would definitely recommend.

Do not buy ! Waste of money.
The battery on this thing is terrible , barely lasts a day and that’s not even using it for anything other than one 30 second phone call in a day . I bought it for my daughter rather than a phone , I wish I’d just gone for a phone and limited access on it myself . The charger is temperamental, so it’s constantly making a tone as it connects and disconnects , and whilst it’s doing this it is constantly sending notifications to the app on my phone telling me it’s low . The pre written texts are redundant and can’t communicate anything other than hello and goodbye . You have to pay the annual contract all in one , so monthly options aren't available . Everything it advertises like games and ringtones and all the other stuff are behind an even higher paywall to access except for a few tones and screen backgrounds, not that you could use any of it as the watch would be dead within 1/2 a day . The idea is great , the practically and execution of the device are terrible . No doubt it will be in a draw and never used now I’m I’ve paid for the annual fee. I will probably just get my daughter a phone . £180 for the watch , £80 for the annual contract £25 for an additional charger !! (Which my daughter needed for each parents house ) . Please for the love of God , do not purchase this and just get a mobile phone !!!!

Amazing!
Honestly do not understand the negative comments on customer service, they have been PHENOMENAL. Perhaps they are looking in the wrong place? Just find your order on Amazon and go to customer service through there. We’ve had ours since February, the strap broke in April, contacted customer support and was sent a link to order a replacement. We’ve now had a second issue (not a fault of the watch itself) and they have agreed to replace the watch free of charge. Cannot fault them! As for the watch, we’ve had zero issues with connectivity (We use a Giffgaff sim), the calling feature works seamlessly and my son loves the added bonus of being able to use photos as screensavers. It’s honestly been an invaluable device and I feel the negative comments are based either on connectivity issues (which is usually a sim issue, although sometimes just doing an update of the watch is also needed) or just not looking in the correct place for customer support!

barely good enough
We got this as a safety net when our son started walking to school and so he could call us if there were any issues. also so we could tell him it's dinner time when he was off galavanting with his friends. however: - charging pad makes really poor contact with watch so you think it's charging but silently disconnects and you have a dead watch in the morning. - if battery dies or after software updates, the system volume resets to zero, so unless you can condition your 8 year old to constantly check the volume is correct, the calling feature is useless. - GPS is vague at best and faulty. there's no chance my son was walking to school then suddenly teleported 46miles north and back again then stood around in one spot for 3 hours before finally walking a straight line to school through several people's houses (or maybe flew over the top? My advise, just get them a a cheap 2nd hand phone and teach them not to f-about with it.
