Invacare 5310IVC, 6629, 5185 Semi Electric Homecare Bed, Semi Electric Bed, 5310 IVC with Innerspring Mattress, 5185 and Full Length Rails, 6629

I bought this hospital bed and had it shipped overseas for my dad who had a massive stroke. Mum says the bed was not too difficult for her two friends to set up. The electronic features have made her job as caregiver easier. Before she had to ask for help propping dad's head up at meal time and for meds and now it's so much better. Just press a button. My dad has been resting better. Comfortable mattress. She says the bed looks nice and does not have the sharp edges like a previous bed they had. The side rails work well and keep dad safe at night. She is very happy with the gift as a show of support from her family and that we cared enough to send it. What I saved ordering through Amazon we paid as duty at the other end (about $500 ) and the free shipping did not extend to Jamaica. I had to pay $450 to ship from Orlando to Jamaica plus the cost of pickup and transportion to the house.

I received this product sooner than anticipated which allowed me to return my rental bed sooner and save money. I was able to buy this bed for less than what 3 months rent would cost from the local medical supply. Set up wasn't too bad but mounting the motor was a little difficult. If you have two people it should be fine. It requires Twin XL sheets, as most hospital type beds do. The bed operates smoothly and is perfect for my mom's needs. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.

I bought this bed for my aunt and returned it immediately for 2 reasons: 1)The bed has half rails, not full rails as described and 2) no manual crank to move the bed up and down as described. More importantly, the return process through Invacare was cumbersome with a lot of red tapes, many delays that required my follow-up via emails and phone call. Invacare MUST modify the descriptions of the bed on Amazon to be accurate as I saw many other previous comments referring to "half rails versus full rails."

I bought this bed for my wife who has limited mobility and considerable back pain. I have had this bed for approximately 4 months and it has proved to be sturdy and dependable. assembly was not difficult, but required two people. The only problem was the connection of the activation rod between the two ends of the bed. The directions did not state that the rod was to be connected on the top connector on one end and the bottom connector on the other end. without doing this the ends do not adjust properly. The only other problem I had was that the bed did not lower sufficiently for my wife to get in bed comfortably (she is 5 foot 2 in. tall). I therefor had to remove the wheels to lower the bed and install some sliding casters to move the bed on. this works very good. I have not used the rails, but they do seem very short to provide protection from rolling out of bed. the rails are not the ones shown on the picture. The height of the bed is the only reason i did not rate this bed 5 stars. Oh, the mattress is a plastic coated material for water resistance and seems fairly comfortable.

This bed is a good one at a great price. When you put it together tho, they forget to tell you to put the drive shaft ...the head goes to the head position and the foot goes in the foot position...it criss crosses as such and did not raise up and down correctly until we put the drive shaft in the correct position. This bed I got for my father who has ashma and needs to position his head up just a little to breath better. Works great now!!

I purchased 2 of these beds for a school nursing assistant class. Amazon had the best prices for my limited budget. The bed has held up to a lot of student use for training purposes and I would recommend for training or home care. The headboard is very low and the side rails are the "old fashioned" kind, but it works well for my needs. The electric raise/lower is somewhat slow, but the cord is long enough to sit on either side. I expect this to last many years with much wear and tear from classroom training.

Bought this for my Dad in Aug. 2015 and the motor assembly broke in June 2016. The part that makes the head rise broke, so I turned the assembly around and now only the head part moves. I am looking for the motor only but it seems its not available. Ebay is my next stop for the motor part.

I ordered this adjustable hospital bed for my husband who has Parkinson's. I also ordered the Drive air bed pad for a mattress topper. I can adjust the head of the bed to reduce his snoring at night. I can also put the bed in a comfortable position for him which he needs because he spends 10-12 hours a night in it. The air bed pad is used because he sleeps in only one position. It can also be adjusted for soft to firm. My son put the bed together for us which took about an hour. The mattress is light weight. The bed will be easy to breakdown for moving when/if necessary.
