Good quality. Not superfast, but probably fast enough for most people.
Bought to house a spare M2 NVME SSD I had lying around, it suits my needs perfectly. Of good quality, the drive was easy to install inside with the cooling pad & heatsink in place and was found by my PC straight away. Approximately 30 minutes later, 97GB of music had been transferred to the drive without any of the overheating others reported (it was barely warm). Read speeds for uncompressed, lossless files are easily good enough. Highly recommended for similar uses.

Worth for money but not mega fast!
Is work. So far no issues. But I don't remember to I rich fast speed with nvmv gen 3 SSD. Usb C or Usb A with different devices and ports still same speed. Don't expect more than 180 megabaits transfer. For me is fine. Quality is okay.

Made use of a redundant NVME
Bought this as I had a spare NVME lying around and wanted to make use of it. Easy install though could be a bit fiddly if you have big hands like me, but otherwise plugged into pc formatted and away you go

Good value, good performance
This is the second of these enclosures I've bought. I have not used them for an extended period so I'm can't comment on how well they dissipate heat, but the first one was used to recover data from a laptop that suffered a liquid spill and my daughter now uses it as a backup drive.

Fast access speed with my SSD drive, surprising amount of plastic in this item
I got this to replace an older drive enclosure for a WD-Black SSD. The drive can sustain high read/write rates and so I opted for this 10Gbps enclosure to get more speed. Wen I received the unit it was a little hard to remove the plastic slide on the end, but with a little more force it moved and then the metal part slid off. This reveals that the whole inner structure is plastic which was a bit of a surprise. Still it was simple to fit my drive and apply the cooling pad plus heatsink. Then slide the blue aluminium tube back over and close the drive with the clip at the end. I speed tested the drive with Blackmagic Disk Speed Test and used a 40Gbps USB-C cable. The Orico enclosure allowed my drive to return the fastest speed test results I have ever seen from it, so for speed this is a good enclosure. Just hope that the plastic inner is enough to stand the heat when editing video files from the drive.

Understandable instructions
This is the second Orico SSD Enclosure I've purchased. Used with an Orico 1Tb SSD for external backup. It comes complete with a heat shield and full understandable instructions.

Hangs after about a minute of use
This was cheap but doesn't work properly for my use case. It might be okay for reading and writing the odd file but I wanted to copy a lots of files. I am using a SATA M.2 disk and the device is plugged directly into a Thunderbolt 3 port in a laptop running Linux. The disk mounts okay and initially works when transferring files. After about a minute, it hangs and I need to reboot the laptop. The SSD doesn't even get hot. This happens every time I try it. Googling online indicates that this is a common problem and that most brands have the same fault. This device internally uses the RealTek RTL9210B chip which is considered more reliable than the JMicron or ASMedia alternatives.

Although it is nice and well finishing it can’t be used with 2 tb and 4TB enclosures especially if u have MacBook . So don’t buy it if u want it to be used as external enclosure or SSD it need external power supply . It works with 1 tb only don’t believe them. But you can use it through external hub that have power supply or you connect you power supply to the hub . In other word large capacity SSD 2tb and 4 tb need more power to work perfectly

encloser is easy to put in a drive be it a nvme or sata. Comes with a pad and heatsink but unless you don't plan on changing it out that's kind of useless. has some kind of rubber screws to fit in that made putting a drive in and taking out toolless. speed transfers seem to be on par for the drive installed this is a good buy the one thing I didn't like was it only came with a usb c to usb c i think a usb c to usb would have also been helpful I just happened to have one on another enclosure. over all I am happy with this enclosure and would recommend it to anyone.

Essentially bought this for cloning and upgrading from 256 GB WD M2 NVMe to 1tB Crucial 2280 P3 one on Asus Vivobook. Could finally clone data of about 230 GB in about 10 min. Of course, upgraded the RAM from 8 (4 on board + 4 DIMM slot) to 20 GB after adding a 16 GB unit. Do remove the plastic mask tapes on the thermal pad provided to properly stick on the SSD and the aluminium heat sink. Though I did not experience any temperature raise, it may occur on intense read, write use for prolonged times. Initially committed some mistakes, such as, cloning with 8GB RAM, using a Type C to A charging cable, whence the estimated cloning time shown was 5h+. From the start to every aborted step, I had to recreate a GPT partition. I could easily do it on an Ubuntu machine using GParted, everytime. Of course, one can use 'diskpart' on command line on Windows as Administrator. There are bare USB type A adapter card for cloning, which could be cheaper, but this enclosure can be used to make a portable on-the-go external storage device for mobile phones, laptops, desktops, pads etcetera, using the old, 'not-so-useful' ME SSD's and extend the utility.
