Excellent in every respect...
... why buy cheap when you can buy this. Easy to wire and fit. Robust and lasts. If you are going to fit an outdoor socket you need it to last and work so pay the bit extra and sit back with a longer lasting product.

Better than other cheaper brands
I fitted a British General (BG) socket a few years back and within about 3m the clips/hinges on the top broke. It was so frustrating.Eventually I ordered this MK one after doing some research online. This seems much much superior in design, sealing, lid and mounting.For anyone reading this, avoid BG ones loke the plague.

Quality Product
I started off with 1 of the cheapo sockets, but after the first rain shower, it had let a load of water in through the hinge. I swiftly returned and ordered an MK plug, which is in a totally different league. Don't skimp, get the MK.

Very well made - recommended
This was bought to replace a fairly new equivalent from another manufacturer. It's an outside socket to recharge a small electric car, and although the draw is only about 2.2 KW, it is a continual current (unlike say a kettle or even an oven) and so finds out any shortcomings fairly quickly - the first sign is getting hot, which the original one did from the start eventually resulting in the thing getting hotter and hotter, then discolouring, then cracking up and useless. The MK version is much better built, and gets warm but certainly not hot. I know some will say the heat is from a poor connection, but both were fitted by the same highly competent electrician - MK might be slightly more expensive, but in the long term it's the one I'd trust.

Some really cheap product design
The item itself is fine, but the safety tabs that open / close the faceplate are a really cheap piece of plastic in a clip that will undoubtedly break. It’s also hard to open. Disappointing considering the overall quality and price

Quality part.
Good quality, well constructed, tight fitting. Fitted several months ago to outside wall.Expect many years of good service as it has a 20 year guarantee. Have MK stuff in the house as well.Never had a problem with this make. Always worth the money.
