Two of them broke the first time I tried to open them.

I got these small hair clips to add some sparkle to the holidays. Apparently my hair isn't as thick as it used to be. I tried these clips three different ways and took photos of each.Photo 1: Put hair up with blue soft braid band hair tie and then attached clip. The clip is very secure this way but the band is too thick for the clip to meet at the middle.Photo 2: Twisted hair and attached clip, no hair band. This didn't feel as secure, and in a short period of time the band started to slide out of my hair. If my hair were thicker this would have worked great.Photo 3: Put hair up with soft black elastic fabric tie, no rubber band. This one held well, met in the middle, and felt secure. This is how I will wear these clips.They feel sturdy and open and close well. They're very easy to apply once the hair is up in a band. They're a little more tricky without a hair band, but not impossible. Once they're in and feel secure, they aren't going anywhere until you take them down. I can definitely recommend these hair clips for someone who is willing to play with them until they get the best result. They may work fine without a hair band, or they may not. Depends on your hair.

These hair clips are very pretty and seem to be fairly well made. They have a strong hold but aren't hard to open. The description says they are for thick hair and I would say they are more for medium hair rather than thick because they can be difficult to get around all the hair on a person with thick hair. I tried these on my friends hair who has thick hair and that is the problem we ran into. My hair is fine and I can use them if I twist my hair in the back or use a big band to wrap the clip around. I love the look of them, they look very classy and feel like a good weight.
