I took one star off because the filter sometimes snags and you have to flip it down before you can close the lid.But it’s a decent kettle and is a good size- makes it easy to boil enough water to get a pan on the job going quickly.We’ve had it a few weeks and we have hard water, but I boiled half the kettle with water and a good splash of white wine vinegar, then rinsed, then put neat vinegar in there on the hot plate, swished it about and rinsed once more- back to perfect.

It’s very rare I write a poor product review. Bought this kettle 5 weeks ago, as it’s similar to my previous kettle I like the clear glass and blue light, nice design, it arrived as described worked Well. Over the last few weeks noticed it builds limescale easily and needs cleaning often. My old kettle (glass/lit) didn’t need this. Today I part filled the kettle as usual, to find minutes later most of the water over the sideboards. I filled it again to check over. Leaking visibly from the bottom. Perhaps is a design fault on this kettle but I Do not recommend. Will be contacting seller.

I have purchased this kettle in April, 5 months ago and it cracked today when l was filling it with water. I love the design, love the blue light, loved using it. But l was disappointed that after only 5 month the glass cracked and l can’t use it. And l am even not using it daily! So so disappointing! Denisa

I would not recommend this kettle. It takes a long time to boil compared to my last kettle. And now, after just 3 months the glass has broken around the spout. This has been caused be the filter getting trapped every time you close the lid.

I like the pattern on the outside of the kettle and the fact that it's glass. However, I would discourage anyone from purchasing for two reasons:1) The bottom is already rusted2) Most kettles will shut off when you pick them up from the base. It flips the lever that you press down to boil the water. On this one, however, it is a switch, and it doesn't flip to the off position when you pick it up. So, if you boiled the water and fully emptied the kettle into a teapot, I'm not sure if the sensor would pick up that it is totally empty and shut off. I worry about it overheating when trying to boil on empty. The autoshutoff only seems to work when the minimum water level is met.

Glass kettles are far superior to synthetic kettles and look very good. this one is well-made and a good buy I have not given it 5* because I do not yet no how long it lasts. Glass kettles are so easy to clean with a little white vinegar once a month if you have hard water, so the kettle always looks good.

It is nice to look at, and it works very well. Easy to handle when containing water, although the filter element slows the flow when pouring. You can remove this if you wish, although another part of the instructions says that it is necessary to produce back pressure to cause the automatic switch off to work when the water is boiling. If you lift the lid to pour, be aware of the steam! We only use filtered water in it, so the glass is still very clean. The heated base is slightly stained after several weeks use, but this is not a problem for us. The kettle does not switch itself off when you lift it off the base, unlike our last kettle, so I have to remember to switch it off before lifting it off the base, as it will still be ON when you replace it! On the good side, the overheat protection works!!

I have only had this kettle a couple of weeks, I descale it weekly as we're love in a hard water area.The kettle is now leaking water everywhere from the base so I have to buy a new kettle
