The media could not be loaded. Not sure how one comes to need a 4” perfectly smooth and clear glass ball, but here we are. My birdbath-turned-fountain attached to my balcony rail needed a smooth curve to soften the splash of the water stream, and the clear glass gave me the idea of sitting it in a small cup equipped with a light source. And while it does not illuminate the entire sphere— pretty much just shoots the light in a beam out the top pole— a second light on the outside does give it a nice glow. As a fountain ornament, while it is large and takes up a lot of space in my small copper pot, it has seriously reduced the amount of splash and ripple, which preserves water and lessens the chance of running dry / burning out the pump. It’s also already helped to attract some thirsty bees, very cool.

This crystal ball is just the right size to comfortably hold in your hand. It is crystal clear. Hopefully it won't be too hard trying to learn to use it.

Elsewhere, others could be double the price or even more! Love it!

When received I unboxed it and made an inspection. Put it down on a window sill sitting in its opened box. Angles, window glass, time of day were just right that it was able to focus the sunlight on the card board box and burned a hole in it. Amazing. Need to be careful where you display it. Any how its a nice big sphere of glass that some day will be mounted in a bronze holder and in the garden.

Maybe I received a dud, because I did not receive an optical grade glass sphere. It is smooth, but full of inclusions that make images through this hazy. I'm very disappointed.
