Step2 Lakewood Extra Large Mailbox & Post, Weather Resistant, Large Outdoor Mailboxes, Made of Durable Plastic, Easy to Install, Flag Included, Brown

Purchased this to replace another Step 2 Mailbox that was over 20 years old and still in great condition. Wanted the larger size box and this one does not disappoint. Install was not difficult. Did replace the original 4x4 which was probably the hardest part of the job. Purchased the wood locally at HD. Also purchased and installed a plant hangar hook for the rear to hold a potted plant. The instructions show adding one but you can select whatever fits your style. We ended up with a curved 12" hangar though the hanging flower pot will have to wait till spring. Based on past Step 2 products, I have no doubt this mailbox will hold up long term. The colors and design really make it stand out. Have gotten a lot of compliments on it!

Such an easy install...after reading the instructions completely and one utube video. We live on the coast so heavy duty plastic was a must. We had an existing 4x4 post in the ground already so it was just a matter of sliding it one. Assemble the Xlarge (a must now days) mailbox first. Adjust the magnet closure prior to install. It really does need 2 people install only because one holds while the other screws in place. It looks great.

This is a really great looking and sturdy mailbox! I bought this last Summer (2024) and installed it by myself. It slides easily over a 4"x4" treated post set in the ground. It is very sturdy and looks elegant. My mailman loves it because he can put most of my parcels inside of it due to its extra large size. The neighbors have all given me compliments on how nice it looks! It went through one of the worst Winters we have had in years and still looks like it is new. I highly recommend this mailbox!

Fairly easy to install, already had post in. I am 76 yr old female. Only problem , door not staying closed because magnet too far away from door plate. Had to put shim under it, now works fine.

This is a BIG mailbox. I mean, REALLY big and spacious! To give you an idea, two healthy adult cats climbed into the mailbox together and took a nap while my husband was assembling the post! It's made by Step2, a reliable brand I know from my kids being small and purchasing their plastic toys. We wanted to make it more convenient for our mail carrier to deliver our occasionally abundant packages, and this mailbox fits the bill! You have to purchase your own 4x4 post to go inside the plastic post, and it seems very sturdy now that it's assembled. The door is held closed securely with a magnet, but it doesn't lock. The assembly instructions were clear and easy to understand. So far, we are very pleased with our purchase, and our mail and packages are not crushed due to being crammed into a smaller mailbox. The first photo is the new box with our neighbors' boxes, which are all slightly larger than a standard residential mailbox. The second photo is the assembled box and post without the 4x4, and my husband is 5'3".

Durable and easy installation plus great curb appeal

I really like this mailbox built with good quality materials. Step by step instructions my neighbor installed it for us. The mail doesn’t get folded in half anymore plenty of room.
