I have loved the Haunted since I first heard "made me do ...
I have loved the Haunted since I first heard "made me do it" over ten years ago. There was such brutal animosity and intensity in their music. Too me, the Haunted made popular american metal bands like Slayer & Pantera, sound weak and slap-happy. Dont get me wrong, love Slayer AND Pantera (rip), and many, many others- BUT, the Haunted too me are simply untouchable. They are among the elite of extreme metal with THE BEST guitar hooks and grooves in the music business...The Haunted have had two vocalists who seem to jump in & out of the band every other record or so. (yes, this has frustrated some over the years) but, not me. Honestly, I love em both. Dolving has a hint of hard-core influenced rage and rant, while Marco (hes the present vocalist... for the moment) has more of the old-school thrash "slayer-esque" rasp to his vocal. Both work just fine...Guitar work is melodic and loaded with great hooks- start to finish. Drums are tight and mixed perfectly. Marcos vocals are angry as ever- the constant feeling that he truly wants to kill some dirty bastard(s) is always present. Its an overall great haunted album, just like ALL their others. My only negative comment for this release is the seemingly simple & almost "weak" lyrical thought. The lyrics lack depth and since-able content. they are almost child-like simple in some cases. This is just my opinion of course. But, the music is plenty good enough to overcome any "overly simplified" lyrical content. I mean...really who cares? Turn it on, play it LOUD and mosh through anything that stands in your way!!!! Love the Haunted.

Just Like when they released One Kill Wonder... Awesome metal!!
Haunted has returned to what they did with Aro (One Kill Wonder), and it totally blows away anything they did since. Revolver was Okay, but Peter can't do what Aro does. Whatever T.E. Marca wrote about them sounding like Lamb Of God is totally wrong!! The Haunted sound like the Haunted, with bits of Slayer thrown in. I love LOG, don't get me wrong. Both bands put out great material.. Both bands just Kill It live! I just about sh*t when I heard Aro was coming back for this one because he was one of the reasons I love this band. 5 stars!! If you liked "The Haunted made Me do it" and "One Kill Wonder", you can't pass this one up! I hope they keep Aro on for another round, because honestly, we need to keep it heavy, grooving, and dynamic.

If you enjoy fast and heavy grooves, buy this record immediately!
Killer album! So glad they went back to their more traditional Gothenburg sound. Fast, heavy, and razor sharp sounding. Not that I disliked their previous few albums, but I think they really started to lose their way. Everyone is all hands on deck with this one.I saw The Haunted open for At The Gates last summer during the touring cycle for "Exit Wounds" and ATG's "To Drink from the Night Itself" and I was blown away. If you like At the Gates, old Dark Tranquility and early In Flames, then this is the record to buy!

Great comeback album from The Haunted
Great comeback album for a band that used to tear it up. I saw The Haunted open for Dimmu Borgir and Cannibal Corpse 3 times back in 2001. All three bands killed it that tour and as a huge At the Gates fan it was great to see The Haunted holding their own with two big time acts. They were playing a ton of songs off of "The Haunted Made Me Do It" which was there best album by far. After that album I thought every one after it was a slow decline until this one. Exit Wounds has some incredible and heavy tracks. Having Marco Aro back on vocals is the kicker. Old Haunted fans will really enjoy this one.

Having Marc Aro back makes it sound like it should
Well , Finally THE HAUNTED has comeback , i dropped them after DEAD EYE or whatever dreadful name that album was. Having Marc Aro back makes it sound like it should , if you Liked THE HAUNTED MADE ME DO IT and /or ONE KILL WONDER this album is for you. From the Intro and Opening Track to the middle TREND KILLER , to the Closer GHOST IN THE MACHINE .Plus the Special release price of $5.99 makes it even better. So buy this Album , get a cold beverage ,crank it to 11 and bang your head.

Marco Aro brings with him an aggression thats suits this type of music better. My two faves off this right now are ...
Exit Wounds is a welcome return to form for a band many think veered a bit too far off course with their last few albums such as myself. While Peter Dolving is clearly the more versatile vocalist, Marco Aro brings with him an aggression thats suits this type of music better. My two faves off this right now are "Cutting Teeth" and "Trend Killer," but the whole album is pretty much killer. I'm not sure this album is in the same class as Made Me Do It or One Kill Wonder, but it's definitely a step in the right direction.

Welcome back, Mr. Aro!
For everyone that's been waiting for a true follow-up to 'One Kill Wonder', this album's for you! I'm a fan of all of their albums but Marco Aro just adds such an extra amount of aggression and groove. Not that Peter Dolving is bad at all though. The earlier albums with him were very aggressive and so was Revolver. Ever since Revolver, though, each album was kind of hit and miss and I never knew exactly what to expect. It's like they had mood swings and they were either pumped up or mellowed out. Either way, this is a great album in classic Haunted form.

Killers on the loose once more
If you were thrilled by the thrash-imbued Gothenburg death metal of the self-titled album and `The Haunted Made Me Do It' ...and left uncertain by stylistic curveballs in the intervening years... pick this up & wreck your neck. You won't be let down. A lethal record.

For the best metal album you will buy this year...
Many will have viewed The Haunted’s recent work as ‘diminishing returns’ (likewise sales, I expect), this is utter rubbish.Pete has such a dynamic range, you can’t blame the band for wanting to take advantage, naturally meaning a move from their heaver roots, although there were moments equal brutally to anything that had gone before even on later records. DeadEye is a masterpiece and Unseen, despite what some may think and the band possibly came to believe, is fantastically diverse for a thrash band.Still, I don’t begrudge Marco’s return, while Pete did bitter-resentful anger well, Marco does unstoppable rage masterfully, like on much of this; short, fast, uncompromising, brutality that doesn’t let up from start to finish. As mentioned, the album is almost a roll back to ‘Made me Do it’, a mind-blowingly great album by the way, a retrograde step but if you are going back to something so good what’s the problem.Exit Wounds, however, has some thoroughly modern parts, in this respect the band go round the houses in terms of influence 'Cutting teeth' and 'Trend Killer' have a shade of Slipknot, 'As the Poison Sets in' could be a Testament track, 'Eye of the Storm' and 'Infiltrator' Lamb of God, 'Time and All I Have' Devil Driver…The Haunted have enough in the bank for this, besides what goes around comes around in terms of influence and everything still remains unmistakably Haunted.Highlights include opening 'Cutting Teeth' and 'Trend Killer' both of which whip along at such an amazing pace, 'Trend Killer' especially seems to be Marco channeling the personal rage of the band, incidentally if you like this check out Turmion Kätilöt for a similar sound. The rest, on first listen, tends to merge a little but you have classic old-school Haunted in the guise of ‘Eye of the storm’ to break-up the first half and classic latter-day haunted 'Kill The Light' for the second. Near end closer 'As the Poison Sets' in is very enjoyable. The Haunted are my favourite band, from the moment I heard ‘Hate Song’ all those years ago. I love this new album and if brutal, modern thrash is your thing you will too and should buy this now, but I feel ‘Made me do it’ is arguably a better album and there is no denying, for me, the loss of the progression the band were making. Also, 3 reviews for one of the best metal albums of the year! Madness.

Exit Dolving, enter the Aro
What do you do when you lose your singer (Peter Dolving), your guitarist (Anders Bjorler) and your drummer (Per Moller Jensen)? Simple. You call on ex members Marco Aro (vocals) and Adrian Erlandsson (drums) and belt out your most ferocious, brutal, heaviest album since 'One Kill Wonder'. Comparisons with their third album are valid as 'Exit Wounds' shows many similarities particularly it's more extreme, trashy, death-metal sound. Although a few songs sound like they could've come off their best album 'Haunted Made Me Do It' (notably opener 'Cutting Teeth and Eye Of The Storm), for the most part it sounds more like 'One Kill Wonder'. It's certainly The Haunted's best album since 'Revolver' although it isn't as good as their two masterpieces, 'The Haunted' and 'Made Me Do It'. In truth, The Haunted have been treading water for far too long now; their watered down metal-core had become stale and tired-sounding. I for one, welcome the return of Marco Aro and with the addition of the exceptional Erlandsson and impressive rhythm guitarist Ola Englund, the Haunted have received a much needed shot in the arm and made them relevant to the 'metal world' again. Is it worth spending more money for the extra tracks? Not really ... but it comes in a smart looking, collectible digi-pack with a glossy booklet. If you're a fan of the second and third albums or Aro's other band 'The Resistance' then this is essential.

Einfach Klasse!
(aber bald kommt At the Gates, und mal sehen.. :D )
