Long lasting tips. Black permanent Ink. Assorted sizes for different uses. Good Product!
I use these for writing music notation and they excel at that. The main advantage of these is they have a hard tip which does not get soft from use. Unlike other calligraphy pens I have used, these tips stay sharp and leave consistent crisp marks. That would also make them good for professional calligraphers, sketch artists or for writing those ten-thousand invitations to your son's wedding. The ink is very black, dries quickly and does not smear after drying. On thin paper, there can be some bleed through, but on decent 20lb manuscript, I have had no problems. I recommend buying this three pack which has three different sizes. After you've found the size that suits your needs, then buy more of just that size. I use the small size for standard music notation and chord-charts like those seen in "The Real Book" series. With practice, you can make your charts look as professional as those using these pens. The larger sizes I use for LARGE print manuscript when writing for kids or ME because I am functionally blind in nightclub lighting.

Mostly great
I love Sakura products, and these pens fill a gap between expensive calligraphy pens and regular markers... just right for a variety of tasks. Lovely colours, and the fact that they are waterproof is a great asset. The only reason that I don't give this product five stars is that they seem to need a little 'breaking in' when first out of the package. The tips are initially a bit dry and uneven; the chisel shape of the tips seems to be a bit cocave. However, after a bit of use this seems to settle out. Good product, though.

Very Disappointed Brooklyn Calli Babe
Initially I was very excited about this Sakura Pigma Calligraphy pens: nice dense black, like India ink, crisp nib-like edge and sharpness to letters. But the #3 pen from the beginning started displaying a split nib look and then all three pens (1,2,3 mm) started going dry very fast. Hugely disappointed!! I’m having to buy additional sets in order to finish up a lettering project I started.

Great product for caligraphy
I really liked the 10 or 1.0mm pen. I wish they would sell each size of pen separately. Like a pack of 1.0mm size pens.

Just what I was looking for, but dried up very quickly!
I really liked these pens. The chisel tip produced a crisp line. The colors were good. The ink did not bleed through the paper (I was using them for journaling). Bad: The ink in the pens dried up very quickly. Storing them with the tip pointed down did not help keep the ink running smoothly. I was very surprised that a porous pen or marker such as these would dry up like they did. I am disappointed because I would like to buy them again but it is not worth the cost of the pen for how quickly they stop working.

Great pens for multiple writing uses
I have used the Pigma pens for several years. The three pen widths make it convenient to move from one size font to another. I ask for these as "stocking stuffers" at Christmas or I order them myself. For a beginner that wants to practice strokes and develop "muscle memory", these are fantastic.

Almost Good enough
The pens are great for the job. The thinner pens, #1 & #2 work for the most part. Takes a little getting used to. YET: the # 3 is almost unusable because it’s unreliable. There is a visible split down the center of the nib. So the lines are uneven and divided (see the photo. This should, arguably, be the most useful of the 3. Since I can’t use it, 2 stars. Hope it’s only mine that’s defective. I would appreciate a replacement or some credit. Guess I’ll return to UPS if I have too.

I would have expected better ink quality, as one of the pens shows to be a little bit dry, shame as this is good brand
