It is better to have the table professionally built.

The table is relatively easy to assemble once you know about the changes and it is quite sturdy. I would recommend it to anyone looking for not too expensive furniture. Mercer are somewhat lacking when it comes to communication though. I was perplexed when the diagram did not match the machined parts so I contacted Mercer and spoke to a guy who sent me out another leg pack for the table instead of explaining where the changes had taken place and how the extension would still be able to be stored under the table. This turned up two days later and was the same as what I had so i contacted them again. This time a lady e mailed me after i provided photos but her grammar was somewhat lacking and pretty indecipherable. Anyway eventually the penny dropped when I was assembling it (after drilling holes in the original place only to find that the cross members weren't included in the leg pack so a good job I had the spare box) and all is now well. All they had to do was explain in a clear manner that the extension could still be stored under the table with the cross members in the changed positions and they could have saved themselves some money by not sending another pack out.

Just impressed at the quality for the price point. It;s not IKEA simple to put together, but there isn't a single piece of press board, mdf, laminated sub par in the whole kit, so there's that. Btw, took me about 3 hours to assemble the whole lot, the (ahem Swedish) book case I got on the same day took me 4....just saying.Only think I would prefer if they included real quality wood glue in the kit or put it in bold letters in the description that it's required for a high quality build, as what's included is a little sub standard imo.Otherwise I would buy again, and did (2 other pieces of theirs).

Were delivered on time, 1 part missing, but when I rang the seller, problem solved quickly, and part sent straight away. Very pleased with table and chairs.

a lovely well made set very sturdy easy to put together,the only thing i do not like are the groves on the inside of table top will have to use a soft brush to get into them as crumbs can collect in them or put a table cloth on,but that will take away the rustic look.

Assembly was straight forward and easy. All kit was provided and the instructions were straight fwd and to the point.Love this style of furniture and not got a bad word to say about the quality.Extending section for the middle of the table hides away effortlessly and is easy to put in-place when required. Perfect for a dining room or kitchen diner for sure!

this is the worse table and chairs i have ever had i even paid 75pounds to have it assembeld it does not click into place they could not do it every thing is loose chairs and table so anybody looking to buy this table dont bother
