... what it is supposed to but I have seen happy meal toys with better build quality than this thing
Does what it is supposed to but I have seen happy meal toys with better build quality than this thing. Audio quality is 2.5/10 but so are most phones so that isn't a major problem. Also the various I/O ports and card slots are spread out around the unit making it inconvenient to place almost anywhere. Of course that doesn't matter if this thing is going in a phone closet. I purchased this for a client with a small business phone system and so this unit has to sit on the receptionist desk next to the base phone. I was a bit embarrassed by how cheesy it looks.

Works great but could have been better
Pros:-Small in size that is a plus. It just don't take a lot of space. Compare it to a size of a wallet.-You can use either a flash-drive or a USB-stick.-Has volume control so you can listen to it.-Works as it is suppose to. Till now it's working fine.Cons:-Don't have a display so you can see if the repeat is either on or off.

Product Description Misleading
This player was described as including a 560mb flash drive pre-loaded with 400 songs and a slot for an SD card where you could load additional music. What I received with the unit was an SD card with 1 "song" that has a voice over telling the caller that they are on hold. A little disappointing.

Nice Unit Does What it Says it Does
I needed to replace my music on hold (MOH) system. I have a PBX Vodavi Starplus STS system which was set up to use a mini jack MP3 player. I checked out a lot of players and began narrowing it down. The final contenders were Grace Digital Messaging and Music on Hold USB MP3 Player (GDI-USBM10) for $120.99; Innovative Telecom SX8800-P On Hold Music Player for $128.34; and the Innovative Telecom SX8800-P2 USB/SD On Hold Music Player for $111.22.I carefully researched each of the systems. I checked to see if they came with software to create MOH; whether they came with prerecorded licensed MOH; whether they used USB or Flash memory; whether it would be difficult to change the MOH; whether the unit had a built in speaker to check the MOH; what was the voltage and wattage of the system, etc. After researching this, I found that the Innovative Telecom SX8800-P2 system was one of the newer ones. It had both a USB thumb drive and flash memory card slot. It provided royalty free music. And the price was right at $111.22 with free shipping. The unit is very compact. It is made in the USA. It came with a 512MB mini USB thumb drive which holds the pre-recorded music as well as our licensed MOH from earlier. I simply plugged the USB drive into my computer and copied our MOH to the drive. It was very easy. I may use the provided holiday MOH later. The unit does everything it says and I am very pleased.

Cheap Construction, had Power Issues
I purchased this item due to the fact that it was the cheapest production of this type on amazon and had good reviews. I received my item in a timely fashion was a little disappointed by the construction, cheap plastic, but as long as it worked I didn't care, simple to use, loaded our custom hold greeting on to the included usb key, and it worked fine. The big issue we had was sometimes the device would stop working, we would have to unplug and plug it back in to make the device turn back on.ProComes Preloaded with hold messages if you don't have any Custom MessagesEasy To UseHas a Speaker to Make Sure Music is PlayingConsVery Cheap ConstructionDoes not Stay ON all the time

Comes with SD Card ONLY!! No USB Flash Drive - Could be Louder
Overall its middle of the road, but for $100 I expected a little better.-It only comes with an SD Card, no USB drive is included so the product description is misleading.-Using it on a Avaya Partner ACS running R3 - Its a little quite even after maxing the volume out, and a bit of distortion here and there but that could be do to cell phone compression or my Partner ACS system. Who knows?Still its the cheapest usb/sd card on-hold player on amazon at the moment.Edit: 2/6/2013 - So it seems the manufacturer really cares about there products, and gave me a call and do what the could, the sent me a usb drive and apologized that it wasn't included to begin with (seems like an honest packaging mistake) and mailed me one right away. I upped my review from 3 to 5 stars because having a vendor stand behind their product is great.(Also I didn't read this in the original description but it has a built in speaker and a battery, currently not using the provided mini usb power adapter and am powering through a HP Proliant server usb port, which works great.)

Not a good product.
We purchased one of these units on 12/19/14 it worked fine for 2 weeks and then stopped Amazon quickly replaced the unit and the new one worked 4 weeks and it stopped. Amazon will not replace it because it was over 30 days referred us to the vendor who we can not locate. So we decided to open the unit to see if we could make our own repair. To our surprise we found the speaker and main circuit board held in place withDUCT tape. If I were you looking at this product I would move on to something else. this is a waste of good money.
