I liked everything about this book ..the author’s deep understanding of human character and the challenges women face when they try to live their dreams and choose careers dominated by men.All Kristin’s books have inspired me so much and helped understand how privileged we are right now and relate with the tragedies many people faced in the past in wars etc and many continue to face in the recent wars in Russia ,Ukraine,Israel,Palestine..seems that the modern world has not really been as progressive and humane as we would have wished it to be

It gives a detailed idea of the trauma caused by war on our soldiers. Their fear and vulnerability are often neglected by the society. This book gives a detailed account of Jolene 's war loss and her trauma which affects her family too.

A book with a lasting impact!

Great read!

Amidst all the rave reviews for her new book "Four Winds" (Which I mean to read soon), I thought its a good idea to go back to my first book by Kristin Hannah which I read nearly 5 years back in school. It popped as a recommendation on Goodreads and having never tried family drama before, decided to give this a shot.🍁The story of Jolene, a pilot, who struggles everyday to strike a balance between her career and family, is just so relevant today.🍁I remember I was so in awe of her writing, her eye for detail and how she sensitively addressed issues like PTSD and depression.This is one of her underrated works and if you like contemporary fiction you should give this a try.

This is the second book by Kristin Hannah I read. Nightingale was absolutely amazing. This was also a good book. I like the way this author portrays emotions and relationships in her books. Definitely worth reading.
