I bought this to blot fountain pen ink. Not to mop oil off my face or to press flowers! We have a few 1 star reviews saying this is not proper blotting paper. I took a gamble on this product and I'm so pleased I did! It's not what I had at school 50 years ago, that's for sure. Blotting paper as we knew back in the day seems virtually impossible to source these days. Try a search for ink blotting paper and you'll get loads of results for 'paper' to mop up oils off skin or for use in flower presses. The use for fountain pen ink blotting seems a very minor consideration! You can see from my short video that it blots Lamy fountain pen ink extremely well, with no ill effects. I'm actually pleasantly surprised how well it performs. It performs equally well on either side, so once you've filled up one side, just flip it over! It is much stiffer than blotting paper used to be and feels a bit like watercolour card, but with a more open 'weave'. There is no doubt in my mind that this does as good a job as the blotting paper I used to know and love all those years ago. I cut each A4 sheet into strips of around 6cm wide to fit a wooden blotter. That gives me 5 strips per sheet. There are some alternative, very expensive ways to buy a similar product, but with a fancy label or name! This product represents good value for money at around £7 for 10 sheets of A4. Ultimately it seems that this is what you get as ink blotting paper these days and I'm certainly not disappointed! Thoroughly recommended! Hope I've helped :-)

Excellent product but not quite large enough to completely fit the standard size desk blotting pad however, the blotting paper was as described - it’s thick, absorbent and great value. Thank you so much for a speedy delivery, it arrived the very next day.

This blotting paper is good, not quite what I was looking for but it will certainly work for now. It's affordable and there's plenty in a pack. I needed a sheet to keep with my ink sketching, so half a sheet tucked in my sketchbooks is perfect. It seems to be as absorbent as I need. It's quite thick, so cutting rather than folding works better. I'm also planning to redo my flower press with it.

A good size (and can be cut smaller) with great quality blotting capacity. Arrived on time and as described because, unlike a number of orders, it wasn't stuck for over 72 hours at the St Helen's depot!

Good quality product, hard to find anywhere else.

I feel that calling this blotting paper is a little misleading- those who used to regularly write with fountain pens would be able to tell the difference. This is more like very textured thick paper. That said, I can’t comment on whether or not this is fit for purpose yet as I haven’t used it; maybe it works fine.

Took them almost a month to actually SHIP the product, then I had to wait for it to arrive from the UK. So over a month waiting. However, I was willing to accept that since finding A2 sized blotting paper is pretty hard, at least where I live. I opened the package and was irritated to find what looked like card stock - but gave it a test with some of my wettest fountain pens just to see. I was surprised to find it readily absorbed the ink just as well as the softer style blotting paper I am used to, and seem to work great. So, my desk blotters have new paper.
