These absolutely are not 16"x40". I recently fell in my shower and hurt myself pretty badly, so I was prepared to trim them down on the short side. But considering two of them, side by side, fit almost perfectly in my 30"×40" shower without trimming, for which I wanted full coverage, I'm pretty happy with them! As you can see, I am well prepared now with the new bench I also ordered from Amazon. I'm not taking any chances since I was fortunate enough not to have broken any bones when I fell. I have not showered with these yet, but I've had this type before, and I do know they get stinky if you don't hang them to dry...and even then, thus only four stars instead of five. But they're priced low enough to be replaced when that occurs. And well worth it to be safe!

I would like to find larger versions, like twice the size for around my pool deck. These are great in the tub, or as a bathmat. They do take a bit of extra effort to clean, 'stuff' builds up in the weave so a hose and a good broomin' will do the trick.

The floor of my shower was too hard to stand on after an issue with the bottom of one of my feet. I needed something to stand on and found this shower mat. I needed something that would work on a shower floor withan uneven surface. This shower mat was exactly what I needed. It is comfortable to stand on and stays in place. I do however wish it was longer and wider. I may order another one and cut it in order to cover a larger area.

seems to be very well made & ='s a good fit in my tub along with being comfortable on my feet - seems very safe = no slipping of this mat or my feet so far ... drainage is very good.... am so glad to have purchased it !!!!!!!!!!!!
