Yes, this is a real knife and a very good deal. Specs included below.
This nifty ring knife is forged from 14260 spring steel, which is a Czech equivalent of 5160, and heat treated to about 57-58 RC. It comes with a decent, working convex edge that is easy to get shaving sharp with a few passes on a charged leather strop or whatever sharpener you prefer. In other words, it's a real knife and surprisingly well made for something that appears to be marketed on Amazon as something like a 'tourist' or 'gift knife.' The leather sheath is OK but I suspect it will loosen over time. The leather is thin and, if the edge is seriously sharpened, it could cut through. (I treated mine with a beeswax/Obenaufs mix that waterproofs and strengthens it considerably.)Neither Amazon nor Toferner's site provide reliable specs, so I'll do so here. On mine, the drop-point blade measures 48mm x 26mm x 3mm (1.89" cutting edge length x 1" wide x .11" thickness stock). Overall it is 83mm long (3.27") and weighs 23g (.81 oz). Keep in mind, because it is genuinely forged, specs may vary from one knife to the next. However, given the apparently excellent quality control, it would be fair to assume that any knife of this model would hew close to these specs. The blade is distally tapered toward the tip--a very nice and unexpected touch--and robust for its size. It would make for a very capable 'survival kit' knife. The ring handle looks weird but it is reasonably stable in-hand, enough so certainly to carve, feather sticks, and even split 1" thick branches. The 14260 spring steel is very tough, has decent wear resistance, and sharpens easily; the 57-58 RC is my guesstimate based on experience with other carbon spring and tool steel blades. It is NOT, as Toferner's website states, "stainless"; it is a carbon steel like 5160 that will rust if not reasonably cared for. Fit and finish are excellent. In my view, the quality and performance here is surprisingly good, period. At this price, it is also an outstanding deal.

Does not hold a good edge
It's OK for protection and to hide. But I'm sharing them. I have 2 on my neck one in my coin pocket. Good for the price

I got this and I love it
I bought this for my fiance. I bought one for myself a while back and fell in love with it. The got one for my dad. And now my fiance. They are perfect for working out on a farm. Anytime you need to cut bailing twine "boom" knife, right there. It has been absolutely a god sent.... I can't count how many times it has helped out. We were driving the other day and we saw an owl dangling from a fence. We stopped to check on it. It had string all wrapped around it. I just happened to have the knack knife on and I pulled it out and silly cut away all of the string. The owl was fine. It was tired but in a bit it flew away. I was so happy. If I hadn't bought the knife, that owl would have suffered while I tried to figure something else out. I highly recommend buying this item. It is worth it.

No regrets!
This is a great little handmade knife! The quality & style are superb. I added 2 large agates to the leather cord, one just above the sheath & the other at the tie. I have been getting compliments on it everytime I wear it~ Highly recommend!

great for what I needed
Wore with my costume for Ren Faire Viking weekend. Didnt want a dagger or sword. This looks good and although I probably wont cut anything with it, it does have utility and does have an edge.

Erste Bestellung Top, Nachbestellen FLOP
