holy **** this book is not for beginners

This is a good book to review your technique. The enclosed CD with the latest edition actually explains the technique used and what recommended pedal set-up to use. The book illustrates the excercises with notation. The book doesn't actually have written or photo explainations of the technique used so I've only given a 4-star rating.Colin Bailey's book has decisiplined me and I would reccommend this book if you want to improve this area of drumming, either single pedal set-up or double-pedal set-up. Understanding music notation is essential to us this book.

If you are serious with your drumming this is a must do.

Gran libro si quieres ejercitar el pie de bombo.

Avant de posséder une batterie électronique ,je travaillais surtout sur un pad .De ce fait j'avais un très gros déficit de technique aux pieds. Problème résolu avec cette méthode qui n'est pas seulement utile pour le travail de grosse caisse ,mais aussi pour le hit-Hat. De toute manière c'est un classique, alors...

È adatto a qualsiasi livello, ma lo consiglio in maniera particolare a chi non ha molta esperienza.Questo perché consente di partire dai concetti iniziali allenando i movimenti di base e poi passando ad affinare la tecnica con l'aggiunta di qualche complessità in più.Rispetto ad altri testi come "Pedal Control: Achieving Speed, Control, Power, and Endurance for the Feet" di Dom Famularo, questo ha sicuramente un approccio più morbido, oltre al fatto di essere davvero pieno di ottimi esercizi, tutti studiati con grande cura.Ho passato davvero molto tempo su questo libro e devo dire che è stato un aiuto e una guida quasi indispensabile.Con le consapevolezza di poi, avrei cambiato una sola cosa: avrei sempre messo messo la line di cassa in un groove, perché una cosa è far andare il piede da solo, un'altra cosa è usarlo un un groove.Super-consigliato!

The excercises within this book are very skill improving. This book has been around for a long time and it is still a must for drummers.
