Our old dog seems to be increasingly alarmed by thunderstorms and fireworks. I was given a sample of these bars while visiting a pet store, Tennessee Tails, in Jonesborough TN. The owner of the shop told me how well they calmed her normally hyper dog, so I thought I'd try them. The bar is divided into four sections. The directions say give one sections for each 30 pounds. My dog is 40 pounds but thought I would start off with just one section when we had our next thunderstorm. The dog remained calm throughout the whole storm, even when the thunder was close to us with loud booms. It was very effective at keeping her very calm, she slept through most of the storm. I was concerned that maybe she was too relaxed, so on the next storm we tried giving her half of a section. For mild storms that worked fine. She seemed aware of the booms, but didn't start shaking and panting like she used to do. We live in an area that is prone to thunderstorms and if we watch the radar we generally know about 30-60 minutes before they get close to us. The bars take about 30-45 minutes to take effect, and the effect lasts about 2-3 hours. On nights when we know there will be heavy fireworks activity we give her a full section because the noise is quite loud near us. She may look up when there is a particularly loud boom, but doesn't start to panic. Giving her the bars is no problem, she seems to like the taste. I have recommended these to my friends and neighbors who have noise sensitive dogs, and they have reported they worked for their dog. My dog doesn't have separation anxiety do I don't know how well they would work for that. Not sure if the dog can smell when we open the package, but as soon as I do she is right there to get her "treat".

I got this because we were buying bars from a local pet store at high prices. Much more reasonable. Our dog has an irrational fear of thunder/lightning, and these help keep her from totally panicking.

This works miracles on my Chocolate Lab. It helps her get through storms much better than the prescription the vet gave us.

Helped calm our crazy dog but not 100%

Bought these because our neighbor’ senior dog had good luck with them. Worked well for our lab springer geriatric dog as well to calm him down at night due to dementia. Actually recommend this product. Works well on our Chihuahuas too, but we only give them a little piece when it’s storming.

I bought to help calm my intact male down when a female is in heat. It helps take the edge off, but that’s about it. Perhaps it’s just my situation, but they didn’t last as long as I would have liked. He really wasn’t interested in eating them, but I was able to excite him enough that he did get them down.

My dog loves these and it has helper her anxiety greatly. She is now more friendly with strangers, less anxious in the creat, and now let's us do her nails with out much fuse.

I bought it for my dogs because one of my dogs get really nervous when we trim his nails.. But definitely this product doesn’t work they was more active than evere lol so definitely I will not buy it again.. So don’t waste your money on this
