Advanced 2-in-1 Ratchet Garden Secateurs - 5 X Power (Perfect for Weaker Hands) (Purple)

These secateurs are robust. I suffer from arthritis and as i have to do a lot of pruning, I have suffered from pain in my hands and wrists. Using these for cutting larger stems has certainly helped in reducing pain and also made the job much easier. The only drawback i've found so far is that when in bypass mode the lever to change mode tends to move and the cut is not as clean as it should be, but this is easily remedied by moving the lever back to its position. Overall. i'm very satisfied

Took a couple of goes to get used to the ratchet mechanism but works really well. Used for cutting back woody cherry tree suckers around 1cm or more thick. Makes easy work of those and thick brambles. Only complaint is the sliding lock is fairly tricky needing a couple of goes and fairly tight squeeze to get closed. The sliding catch feels like fairly flimsy plastic so don’t know how long it will survive this effort. Makes it secure against little hands but not sure I’d recommend for the elderly for this reason.

It is sharp as the first time. Smal to larger branches I use. Very easy to hold and use. Ergonomic shape. Good quality.

Having arthritic hands is no joke - so I bought this!! More than I wanted to pay but, if it saves me from pain - I'm all in. How wrong was I? DEAD wrong! The second time I used it something fell off it - don't ask me what - I was in the garden - the ratchet 'switch' no longer works and it's really hard for.me to use now - guess I'll be going back to the drawing board to look for a better made tool for arthritic hands!! Don't waste your money!!

Excellent - sharp, light and easy to use for someone with arthritic hands, such as myself.

These secateurs died on their first day of use. Rose bushes, not shrubs, but climbers. Whatever retained the ratchet element gave up the ghost and vanished in the undergrowth after about half an hour's use. Its' loss rendered the entire device unfit for purpose. Sooo fragile. I've got heavier duty loppers, bypass and ratchet, for big or biggish branches but even my old secateurs would have coped with these - the problem is both hands are arthritic and I have Depuytrens Contracture in my right hand. And I'm right handed. I followed the instructions on their use to the letter. Dud set and too late tor return. Very disappointed.

This is my 2nd pair of these as I keep one in the greenhouse and one in the house.Bearing mind I bought them in November, so didn't really start to use them till Spring, the spring inside has snapped today so rendered useless and unable to find spares to repair.Not good for the price you pay !!
