Not over drying

It cleans well and does not dry the skin. My face feels cleaner and refreshed after washing it with this product. In terms of brightening, I am yet to see the results but I am overall satisfied with this product so far. I would recommend it.

When I ordered this, I really liked the idea of having a cleanser with vitamin C, antioxidants, and lactic acid in it. Since I use retinol products at night, I knew that this would just be a daytime facial cleaner for me (don't like to mix acids or Vitamin C with retinol- my skin is too sensitive for that). Since it is advertised as being hydrating, I just assumed it would be a milky or non foaming cleanser, so I was definitely surprised when the pump dispensed a clear gel like substance. Let me rephrase that- I was a bit frightened too, since historically I have found gel cleansers and highly foaming cleansers to be too harsh and too drying for my skin. In the pursuit of data, I wet my face, added some more water to my hands, and the gel had no problem foaming up, quite a bit! The smell is so incredibly nice- citrusy and refreshing. I applied what was like a pump and a half to two pumps of product and washed my face. In the future, one pump will be more than adequate, as it does foam and spread easily. To my utter joy, after I rinsed it off, my skin was hydrated, and NOT dried out! This is truly a first for a clear gel cleanser for me, and I am loving this cleanser! The smell alone would have me wanting to use it. It also contains licorice root extract, which should help lighten discoloration over time. I rinsed my face fairly quickly after applying, but I am sure it would be fine to leave on your face for a few minutes, to allow the lactic acid more time to work its magic. The only drawback I can see to this cleanser is the price. It is a hefty price tag for a cleanser, and a 6 oz bottle at that- BUT, honestly, you really only need one pump of it to get your face clean. Maybe even less, since you presumably went to bed with clean skin. Overall, this is an excellent facial cleanser. I tend to be careful about skin products, as my skin can be sensitive, but it was completely nonreactive to this cleanser. It you take joy in fresh, citrus scents, or like energizing scents, this one is for you!

*Important note: When I ordered the ClarityRX Vitamin C Facial Cleanser, I did not realize it is recommended for morning use ONLY. I found this out when I first attempted to use it at night...and discovered…yeah, it doesn’t really remove makeup.So! Now that I’ve had the opportunity to use the cleanser CORRECTLY, I do find it to be a nice, refreshing morning cleanser that has improved the overall brightness of my skin! I don’t tolerate retinols well at all, so the lactic acid combined with Vitamin C felt like a good alternative, and so far, I’ve done well with it. The cleanser is a gel with a slight foaming action, so it does leave the skin feeling more squeaky clean (although not tight) versus a more moisturized finish. Because my skin veers dry, I’m not sure this will work for winter, but am absolutely loving the super clean, tingly feel for summer! The aroma is also a lovely citrusy orange essence that’s perfect for waking up. FYI: The scent is noticeable, so while the company has not added any synthetic fragrance and markets this as “fragrance-free”, this cleanser may not be a fit for those who are highly sensitive to smell.Good quality ingredients, refreshing feel, & some brightening effects make this Vitamin C Facial Cleanser a great add to the morning skincare regime! I have almost finished using this bottle and have noticed a difference in the texture of my skin (it definitely has a brightening effect). I liked the scent and I felt that it did not irritate my skin at all. My daughter has also used on occasion (and she has sensitive skin) and it did not irritate her skin at all. I thought that the cost was reasonable for the quality and results it showed on my skin.

I use Vitamin C skincare products in the mornings only and rotate between different acids and retinol products in the evenings. The cleanser does a nice job of gently cleansing my face. A small amount (dime or nickel size) is sufficient for each wash and will help the bottle last for many washes. The light scent of citrus is an invigorating way to begin the morning skincare routine.
