Bought for our 3 year old daughter who is Barbie and mermaid mad. Absolutely loves this!

Brilliant mer-man version of Ken doll. Daughter thrilled. Review asked for rating of softness - not applicable so I put one star as he is a hard plastic doll.

It's funny reading these comments from extremely sensitive men concerning this Merman. As if a fish tailed man acts as an affront to their extremely fragile sense of masculinity. Never did I think Ken in Merman form could have such a profoundly devastating and emasculating effect on these modern, reactionary weaklings. Besides, according to antiquity Mermen have existed in folklore since time immemorial. Perhaps the best known being the Babylonian sea god 'Ea', also known as Enki, who had a fish head and man's head beneath, and both a fish tail and human legs. And how could we forget the fish stud himself, 'King Triton'....aka....Ariel's Dad! Anyway, my Niece will love him and that's all that matters.

Bought this as it's currently the only male mermaid (Or merman) doll that's available. As a toy/doll collector, I prefer to have articulation in my items, but as this is by Mattel, I have to settle for the 4 points of articulationHis cuffs and necklace are removable and he does sit down. I would say that he is definitely suitable for water play and imaginative adventures that young fans will createI'd recommend you get this when on an offer or for a sale at a cheap price, as I can see this being worth a bit more than the retail price in the coming years

Does what’s expected

Bought for my granddaughter's fifth birthday and she loved it. It was a expensive for what it is. I only hope it stays water tight.

The product was good but it appeared someone had already opened the original package that the doll came in so I would not gift it to some one as it would look second hand.
