Either you want a firearm nearby your bed for possible protection or you don't. But you want to be responsible and not have it out for curiosity seekers, especially little ones. The solution has always been a gun safe. But in an emergency, opening a safe and retrieving your weapon almost surely would not be practical. Using using this product to conceal a pistol is a great idea. First, it's not unusual to have a Bible by your bed. Secondly, everybody knows what a Bible is so they would not normally go to open it just out of curiosity.It's not 100% foolproof for nothing really would be. I'm not sure I would recommend this for a household that has little hands in residence all the time. But a situation where little children, like grandchildren, are just casual visitors, it's a near perfect compromise solution between accessibility and security.By the way, it won't handle a super large handgun. I have a Walther PPKS and it fits just fine so something along this nature such as a small Glock would be great. But don't get this if you have a big handgun you want to conceal.I gave it five stars because it's innovative and it does exactly what it's supposed to do. Eventually, when the availability of this is more widely known, its practicality will probably decrease.

Bought this for my husband’s c. carry as an anniversary gift. It fit his 1911 perfectly. He loves it! The size of a Bible cover is spot on and no one would know the difference. In fact he was a very confused man when he opened his gift and it was a “Bible case” lol. Great gift!!

Purchased as gifts. We thought it was a great idea for road trips, RV, sketchy strangers/visitors, etc. We loved the added locking zipper; better quality than we feared. Not so sure it’s real leather.

I just got this item. Thus, I can't comment on the long term quality. However, thus far, I love it! It looks great! Initial quality appears to be very good. Overall, it was exactly what I wanted and there is enough room for my EDC and extra mag.
