Beautifully constructed with stainless steel body. Solid kettle type elements (NOT flimsy wire as in most fan heaters).Huge control range for heat, or simply to blow cold air. Very sensitive thermostat giving very accurate control and thereforemaximum efficiency. Typical German engineering. *Can be mounted on feet or suspended from greenhouse roof with chain supplied. Operating perfectly as frost protectionin a 30ft x 12ft glass house which is why it was purchased. Will be observing running costs, but am tempted to purchasea second. * Update Monday 6th May 2013, Nasty cut to hand suffered when winding cable for storage and brushed front edge of unit. Rim not bevelled and therefore DANGEROUSLY sharp. Beware. This is disappointing in view of my original comments.

Keeps the frost away
Robust and well constructed heater. The amount of power available soon raises the temperature in a 10x8 foot greenhouse in a couple of minutes. The constant airflow setting is good for reducing build up of moisture and condensation. With the heater hanging down the controls are at the bottom, which is mildly annoying, however they are accurate and easy to use.

this is a fire hazard
like other purchasers we had a bad blow out,it even melted the fuse in the plug and went on to do damage beyond.the curious thing is that if you check amazon reviews in germany where perhaps it is made there are no such problems.the conclusion we have come to is that the product is good,as german users say,but a serious and dangerous error has been made in fitting it with a three pin plug

quality good but output disapointing.
Disappointed, will only heat a small area. I would not recommend at the price charged. The heating element is similar to that of a kettle. the rating is probably the energy consumption and not the heat output. Comparing the output with a domestic fan heater it under performs.

melting plug
have purchased many of these heaters in the past are they are really good , the last few I ordered very quickly melted their plugs and luckily just tripped a switch , a electrician checked them and said the plugs where not adequate for such a high KW heater , one he changed for a different plug (so i could move it around) and the others he hard wired to a fused switch, so far all are working well without issues , i would recommend but please keep an eye on them plugs!!

Good greenhouse heater
Using to heat my greenhouse where Im germinating seeds that will hopefully establish the national collection of hollyhocks (Alceas).Got it discounted in an Amazon sale. The only criticism is that the dials do not equate to actual temperature. So when you are setting it up you have to look at the booklet and see what the number equates to in terms of temperature before the heater kicks in. I would have thought it would be easy to replace those numbers with an actual temp on the actual unit. Not really an issue - but just easier for the user.

Solidly made and well designed
Solidly made and well designed unit with a pleasing heft and clear controls. The inclusion of a 1Kw element in addition to 1.8 (using both elements produces a total output of 2.8kw) means that this heater can be more economical to run even than some smaller units, including its own smaller 2kw brother. Its thermostatic controller is reasonably consistent. If you want to maintain an average temperature of (say) eight degrees, you must allow for an automatic spread (or hysteresis) of a little over 4 degrees between the heater turning on at, say, six degrees and turning off again at ten degrees. A two degree hysteresis would save more fuel and would have earned five stars, but the user cannot change this. This heater is quite big and the fan is audible but, overall, this was a good choice for me.
