Very pleased arived on time great for my green house

Followed instructions lit wick, very little smoke , only lasted about 3 minutes, came nowhere near filling greenhouse then it went out.I expected it had just stopped and would relight but it appeared to have finished as nothing left in container.Complete waste of money, rubbish product.

Fit for purpose, easy to use and very effective. I have used this product before and will use it again.

I see that some of the reviews grumble about the limited quantity of smoke produced by this item. But it is not meant to be a traditional sulphur candle! The active ingredient here is permethrin, a good & effective insecticide, that is reasonably safe. A sulphur candle on the other hand simply produces a noxious gas (that can make your greenhouse look like it is on fire) in the form of sulphur dioxide that kills most plant & animal life that it envelops.This product (Vitax Greenhouse Fumigator) is essentially a distribution system for an insecticide that has a degree of persistence even after you have used the fumigator (so any bugs entering the greenhouse in the following week or two will also get zapped). In contrast, the sulphur dioxide from a sulphur candle probably dissipates within a day, with no lasting effect - although the sulphuric acid produced from the smoke can be corrosive to some metal fittings in the greenhouse.So, there is nothing wrong with Vitax Greenhouse Fumigator, it works fine. It is a case of horses-for-courses: old boys might prefer a sulphur candle while tree huggers will choose the Vitax.

Set item up in greenhouse as instructed,Iit it smoked miserably for a minute and went out.Hardly any smoke. What a waste of money, don’t buy it. Doesn’t rate 1 Star. 😡

I put in greenhouse shut door and left it it did good job my green house is ready for planting again now .

Lighting the wick was awkward and it is not clear that all the chemical burnt. Will go back to firework type product next time. Certainly sent out some sulphurous smoke but all over quite quickly.
