The yeast is 'berry' happy...
Quite new to this hobby. This video is my second batch using the same yeast after pitching it in the first batch, reusing the settled yeast (yeast cake/lees) by refilling the demijohn after racking off the first batch. I didn’t add any extra yeast for the second batch, and this video is about 6 hours after adding the new must to the demijohn. As you can see, the yeast is berry happy. I did wake the yeast up before pitching it for the first batch, by rehydrating 1g in 2 tbsps warm water for about 20 minutes. (I put it under my turtles basking lamp, temp about 30-35°. It got nice and foamy.) First batch fermented from OG 1.050 to FG 1.000 in about 5 days (pitched 31 December, racked and bottled 5 January) at room temp. I’m waiting for the bottles to carbonate, but so far I’m pleased. Can't wait for this batch to finish. The first batch was kiwi and passion fruit, but as you can see from the video this is strawberry and hibiscus. I'm hoping for a nice, dry, sharp and tangy sparkling beverage.

Good yeast at reasonable price
EC-1118 is an famous yeast in the mead making community. Works pretty well for any kind of wine, mead, or even cider. You can find slightly better yeasts for certain applications like cider, or certain kinds of fruit wines. Generally though it's a solid choice for many types of homebrew and is known to be very reliable and outcompete any wild yeasts or other nasties that might try to get involved. It's also got a high tolerance for high strength brews. Just don't use it for beer or ale, it's not designed for that and you will probably be disappointed.

It just works 😄
Brilliant really, I can't complain. This is our first time making wine from our own grape vines and I can honestly say it works a charm. We accidentally forgot to add the yeast and realised the next day but even adding it 4 days late it started the bubbling process etc within the couple of hours stated 👍🏻

A great all rounder
An exceedingly good yeast. Used it for rhubarb wine and 2 separate apple wine recipes

Fast-acting, leaves no obvious taste
Arrived quickly. Faster acting than I expected, fermentation finished quickly. Leaves no obvious taste. From previous experience, kept in fridge it keeps its qualities over a long time.

Very reliable yeast for your brewing needs. I am currently using this yeast to brew mead, it is very fresh and noticeable fermentation noticeably begins within a few hours. I have had no issues what so ever with is yeast, great buy!
